You know how the other day Britney Spears was banned from seeing her kids again? Well now Britney Spears has been unbanned from seeing her kids already and it's promised that that's how it's going to stay for at least the next 15 seconds.
For some huge undisclosed reason, a judge revoked the visitation privileges that Britney Spears had been enjoying with Sean Preston and Jayden James late last week. But now, after hardly any time at all, Britney Spears is allowed to see her children again ahead of this Friday's big custody hearing in court. And if you're confused by all this coming and going, spare a thought for Britney's kids – at various points over the last fortnight Britney Spears has been allowed to see them, banned from seeing them, allowed to see them again, banned from seeing both of them at once, allowed to only see them if she promises to not use both of her eyes, allowed to only see them provided she was encased in a vast Tupperware coffin and banned from smelling them except for limited periods supervised by a court-appointed monitor. They must be so confused.
Remember when the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline custody bitchfight was fun? We do, back when people kept referring to Britney Spears' lesbian sex partner and saying that Britney Spears was a dangerous individual and a 'continuous and habitual' drug user who used to enjoy livening up parties by whipping her fanny out and trying to kill herself. Ah, those were the days. Those were the days indeed.
Not like now. Now that Britney Spears has started to get her act together by getting to see her children and passing drug tests and imminently releasing new albums, the water has become much less clear. Britney Spears isn't a deranged lunatic any more, she's just a troubled mother trying to do right by her kids. And that literally couldn't be any more boring – if we wanted that we'd watch a made for TV movie about a kindhearted prostitute. But last week something exciting happened – just days after a judge told Britney Spears that she was allowed to spend nights with her boys, he suddenly revoked all of her visitation rights without telling the public why.
But whatever it was can't have been too awful, because after hardly any time at all the judge has given some new temporary visitation rights to Britney Spears again. CNN reports:
Britney Spears has regained temporary visitation rights of her two sons, her attorney said Sunday. "Yes, she's got visitation with the kids," lawyer Anne C. Kiley told CNN in a telephone interview. "She had this weekend — from Saturday morning 'til Sunday at some point." A court-appointed monitor is accompanying the family during the visitations, which are allowed "several days a week," Kiley said. The schedule will remain in place until a custody hearing slated to be held Friday. "This is just an interim order pending the hearing," Kiley said.
Now, obviously the last thing we want to do is question a judge's authority, but what's to point of revoking someone's custody if you're just going to unrevoke it a couple of days later? Britney Spears was only banned from seeing her children for such a short amount of time that they probably thought she'd just nipped down the shops for some milk or, you know, rushed off to vomit copiously into somebody's hand or something.
However, hopefully a permanent solution to this increasingly dull mess will be reached on Friday when both Kevin Federline and Britney Spears are scheduled to appear in court of a big custody hearing. But neither Kevin Federline or Britney Spears should get too excited by the prospect of Friday's hearing – there's always a chance that the judge will pass custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James to someone who'll be less of a liability, like the crazy old one-armed man who lives in the woods and collects bear traps for a living.
