Bung Britney Spears in front of a camera and most likely she'll start stumbling around, miming Gimme More like a dead-eyed pensioner looking for her medicine – so we'd imagine that's what happened at the police station last night.
For last night Britney Spears went to a Los Angeles police station to get booked on the hit and run without a valid driving license charge she faces. Ahead of her court appearance next week, Britney Spears submitted herself to the police to be photographed and fingerprinted – an act remarkable for two reasons; 1) because Britney Spears seems to be realising her responsibilities as a human being, and 2) it was the first time in months that someone has staged a photoshoot with Britney Spears that didn't end up with Britney absent-mindedly fondling herself in front of everyone and letting a small dog crap all over her outfits.
Usually when an artist releases an album they put out singles and promote the album with appearances on TV shows and the like, but Britney Spears is determined to show the world that there's another way. If it wasn't enough that Britney Spears is marketing herself ahead of Blackout's release date as the suicidal weirdo who can't keep custody of her children, there's now a sliver of a chance that Britney Spears will spend the most important part of Blackout's post-release itinerary in jail for hit and run.
After she was charged with hit and run and not holding a valid driving license last month, Britney Spears faces either six months in jail or a $1,000 fine. Since Britney Spears earns that in an hour, a judge won't be likely to hit her with a monetary punishment, so jail is looking like a very real eventuality. But anyway, before Britney Spears is sentenced, she first has to go to court for an appearance five days before Blackout is released. And before that, Britney Spears had to be booked, which is why she turned up to a Los Angeles police station last night, as the Associated Press reports:
Britney Spears is no stranger to being photographed, but it's not often she has her fingerprints taken at the same time. On Monday night, Spears reported to a Los Angeles police station to face charges of hit and run and driving without a valid license, police said. Officer Mike Lopez said Spears turned herself in around 9 p.m. and left about 45 minutes later. Spears was fingerprinted and photographed, he said. "She was fine, cooperative," Lopez said. "She did her business and came out."
She did her business? That's disgusting – we thought Britney was over the whole farting thing by now. Anyway, reports from the police station say that Britney Spears was smart and professional, wearing sunglasses because she had pinkeye and happy to assist the police in any way she could. Again, although we'd like to believe that this was because Britney Spears has learnt the lessons from her recent past and is keen to move on from them, we expect that she was actually just thrilled that someone was interested in photographing her face for the first time in two years instead of just trying to ram a camera up her skirt to snap her nondescript vagina again.

Now she wants to get all gangsta and get into jail just before an albums drops just so the sales rise. I’d complain, yet she’s reached a point of such pitifulness where I can only hope she gets an Old Yeller treatment so she can leave us alone.
