When Britney Spears gave up shaving her head, flopping her vagina out and furiously attacking cars with rain protection gear to go to rehab, the general consensus was that we wouldn't hear a peep from Britney until she left rehab – how wrong we were.
During Britney Spears' stay in rehab, stories emerged that were so borderline deranged that they made Britney's act of shaving off all her hair in a weeping tantrum look like the most normal act in the world. How did these loopy Britney Spears stories get out? Through a leak, of course. And now Britney Spears' lawyers have leapt into action, obtaining an emergency injunction banning the press from revealing any more instances of Britney's possibly odd behaviour. The British press, that is, because it's easier to sue here. America, we've never needed you more.
Thanks to the constant presence of the paparazzi in Britney Spears' life, certain aspects of her behaviour are indisputable. For instance, there's been repeated pictorial evidence of Britney Spears getting her vagina out, and also pictures and video of Britney Spears attacking a car with an umbrella in a wild-eyed furious rage. And other pictures suggest that either Britney Spears had vomited over her old boyfriend or just got in a car with her mouth dangerously overstuffed with chunky peanut butter.
These things were indisputable, as was Britney Spears shaving her head – we've seen the pictures so we know that Britney wasn't struck down by a sudden bout of stress-related alopecia, for example. However, after Britney Spears finally decided to go to rehab, paparazzi couldn't trail her every move – so there was no visual evidence to support any rehab reports that emerged about her. That's a bit of a shame, because pictures of Britney Spears kissing a shit guitarist would have gone down a storm – and there hasn't been a night that we haven't gone to sleep longing for just one snap of Britney Spears with the number '666' scrawled across her bald head screaming at a confused drug addict about being the Antichrist, or at least attempting suicide with a bed.
But since there's no paparazzi in rehab, all news agencies presumably had to go on for Britney Spears rehab stories were leaks from the rehab itself – a potential minefield, since recovering drug addicts have never been the most upstanding portion of society. But anyway, now Britney Spears is out of rehab, she isn't so happy about these rehab stories coming out, and so yesterday she sent her legal team to the High Court to get an injunction, as Reuters reports:
Lawyers for Britney Spears won an emergency injunction in London's High Court on Thursday preventing further details appearing in the British press about the U.S. singer's stint in a rehabilitation center. According to media solicitors Schillings, they are also seeking an order requiring media outlets to disclose the source of the leaks. "An emergency injunction was obtained in London's High Court … on behalf of Britney Spears to restrain the person or persons, known as 'John Doe', who has/have been leaking information about Ms Spears' time in a rehabilitation clinic from further disclosures invading her privacy," Schillings said.
So make the most of those Britney Spears rehab stories you've already got, because there's no way you'll be getting any more. Unless you live in America or have access to American news, obviously, because Britney Spears hasn't bothered to get an injunction there. Maybe this was because the rehab leak was exclusively targeting British media agencies, or maybe it's because libel laws in the UK are more firmly weighted in favour of the prosecution and Britney Spears would have never managed to accomplish the same thing in America. We just don't know.
But Britney Spears has often exploited the different laws in the UK to get her point across, so this is nothing new. Why, back in July Britney Spears ordered an apology from the British National Enquirer – and only the British National Enquirer – for suggesting that she and Kevin Federline were on the verge of splitting. And we all know how ridiculously false that story was – Britney Spears and Kevin Federline didn't split up less than four months later and embark on a bitter custody battle at all.

Geeze. Between the divorce, rehab and lindsay lohan’s mom’s harsh comments about the Spears family, I just don’t know how Britney will recover.
