Kylie Minogue Now Better At Wearing Clothes Than Kate Moss

Kylie Minogue's life over the last few years hasn't exactly been a bowl of cherries, what with the breast cancer treatment and the constant knowledge that Dannii Minogue is her sister whether she likes it or not, but now things are looking up for her.

Forget that Kylie Minogue's cancer is now in remission and that she's returned to performing to near-universal acclaim - what should really be floating Kylie Minogue's boat is that a British magazine has pointed out that the clothes she wears are OK. Kylie Minogue has beaten Kate Moss to been named as Glamour magazine's Best Dressed Woman, a fact that would have sealed Kylie's comeback, were it not for the fact that Glamour's second-best dressed woman was Victoria Beckham; a woman who looks mostly like the world's most vacant pencil with a couple of obviously fake satsumas strapped to the front of it.

Up until now, best dressed lists had been a one horse race, and that horse was Kate Moss. Kate Moss was Vanity Fair's best dressed woman of last year, Grazia's best dressed woman of the year, Grazia's most stylish woman of the year and Glamour's best-dressed woman of the year. But now that Kate Moss is busy hanging around with Pete Doherty and sort of not getting married to him, she hasn't had time to put so much thought into her wardrobe, and that's allowed Kylie Minogue to streak up behind Kate and snatch her best dressed crown.

It doesn't matter that Kylie Minogue has had a horrible 18 months, from being diagnosed with breast cancer to being forced to ride an elephant everywhere to writing a colossally opportunistic children's book - the fact is that Kylie's better now, so she'd better get used to receiving all kinds of ultimately worthless plaudits from people who were worried she might die. Plaudits like Glamour magazine's best dressed woman award, which Kylie Minogue has been given because all that breast cancer means she doesn't get her arse out quite as much as she used to. BBC News reports:

"We've seen a newer, softer-looking Kylie," said editor Jo Elvin, who praised her "classic personal style"… Minogue, who recently returned to the stage following her treatment for breast cancer, was chosen for her "Parisian chic" look. "She's still sexy, but she's not flaunting that side of herself in gold hotpants any more," said Elvin.

So congratulations to Kylie Minogue for not wearing clothes that make her look like a tosser. However, the Glamour magazine list loses a little bit of credibility for naming Victoria Beckham as the second-best dressed woman, which we'd have understood if she didn't go to Tom Cruise's wedding with a fucking satellite dish on her head.
