The world can be a scary place sometimes – wherever you look, people are either murdering each other, raping each other or taking pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and putting them on the Internet.
And it's that last one that's been troubling Massachusetts police and the American Secret Service more than anything else. Officers swooped and raided a house last week in order to pinch a memory stick which might have had some pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on it. And that's very possibly some kind of crime or other.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sure do like their privacy. Those crazy colonial overlords ran off to Namibia, the meat-cooking capital of the world, to give birth to Shiloh Nouvel – possibly because they knew that the Namibian government would take a hard line against the paparazzi.
But not even Namibia is watertight, and pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie taken in Namibia were leaked all over the internet last week. The fact that they were taken by Angelina Jolie's brother isn't the point – Brad Pitt is a great American and Angelina Jolie is the woman who he gets to have sex with, and this sort of internetty picture-taking just won't stand.
OK, so although Angelina Jolie's brother – James Haven – took the photos, he probably didn't splash the pictures across the internet. It's being reported that Haven took the camera to a repair shop, where it was nabbed and the contents – three private pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – spread over the Internet. According to People:
Westfield police, accompanied by state police and Secret Service officers, went to the home of William Keys on Tuesday to recover a digital camera's memory stick after three photos that appeared on the Internet were tracked to Keys, police tell the Associated Press.
Officers then went to Keys's place of employment, Precision Camera and Video Repair in Enfield, Conn., and recovered the camera. It remains in custody of Westfield police, though no arrests have been made as of Sunday morning.
Of course, it goes without saying that stealing a camera – anyone's camera – and uploading the photos onto the internet is a shitty thing to do, but what's all the sudden interest in seeing pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Everyone already knows what they both look like, so whatever is contained within these new pictures won't be too much of a shock – unless they're the fabled Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shots where she's removed her giant comedy lips and he's taken off his ridiculous square prosthetic jaw.
