There's something that snaps in a woman's mind the second that they push a baby out of their body. Instantly, all their opinions become way more important as yours, because they can prefix them with "as a mother…"
Angelina Jolie is a mother now – a proper mother, not one of those screwy adoptive mothers – so she's now legally allowed to spout off about the first crap that comes into her mind like she's a world expert on it. Currently buzzing through Angelina Jolie's mind like an angry fly are thoughts about how good adopting kids is and how bad war is. Oh, and some Namibians have called Angelina Jolie a 'colonial overlord', too.
Angelina Jolie, as you'll all know, recently gave an interview with CNN. On the one hand, Angelina took the chance to tell the world how terrifying it is to have a human being pulled out of your guts, but on the other hand she wanted to discuss World Refugee Day, and that's where Angelina Jolie gets to practice the big Angelina Jolie War Is Bad speech. In a shambolicly indirect way, of course:
"When you're in Washington to get money for AIDS orphans, the answer is often, we're at war right now… Our priorities are quite strange, dealing with situations that could end up in conflict if left unassisted, and then cost more."
Yeah yeah, blah blah blah Angelina. Now shut up and tell us more about Shiloh Nouvel. Tell us that, although you've just decided to give birth to and raise your own child, you're already a bit bored with her and that you want to have more of those crazy adopted kids. Tell us that, Angelina Jolie. Tell us:
"Next we'll adopt. We don't know which – which country. But we're looking at different countries. And we're – I'm just – it's gonna be the balance of what would be the best for Mad and for Z right now. It's, you know, another boy, another girl, which country, which race would fit best with the kids."
That's the out-of-control, madcap world of Angelina Jolie for you – war bad, children good. That's a whole level of controversy that we just can't even get our mind around. But, hey, she's quite pretty so we'll go along with her.
Sadly, though, the Namibian National Society For Human Rights aren't quite so pathetically easily swayed as us. After Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt moved to Namibia to give birth to Shiloh Nouvel – possibly because of the Namibian police's enthusiasm for locking up photographers – the Namibian National Society For Human Rights have branded the couple as "colonial overlords." It claims that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie "used heavy-handed and brutal tactics" to persuade the government to boy to their demands, saying:
"To shut down a national border so she can give birth in peace is a massive abuse of power."
So what's the betting that the Namibian National Society For Human Rights is nothing more than Jennifer Aniston slagging Brad and Angelina off from behind the comforting hiding place of an offensively blacked-up face?
