The almost hourly ‘will they?’ ‘won’t they?’ soap opera of Girls Aloud’s potential split continues apace, leaving everyone on the brink of shouting “MAKE YOUR STUPID MINDS UP” in unison because, despite the great singles, the Nadine Coyle Is Probably A Bitch thread is one of the most irritating stories in popular culture.
And once again, after DEFINITELY leaving the band yesterday, she’s now DEFINITELY NOT leaving the band. Tomorrow, we fully expect Nadine to announce in a press release that she plans to kill Cheryl Cole with a special Tesco sponsored Cheryl Killing Machine.
Alas, for today at least, the pair have made peace.
Sadly, this story doesn’t include a bit about them literally making peace. It’s wonderful to imagine the two singers banging their heads together to invent a machine that actually dribbles peace out of the end of it, which sees them saving not only themselves, but the world.
“We designed the machine to save the whole of mankind. That’s why we’ve not released a Girls Aloud record for a while. We realised that, in our position, we can give so much more.
“The Beatles sang ‘All You Need Is Love’… we’ve put our money where our mouths are and actually made a device that creates unity, harmony and all that hippie bollocks.”
Naturally, the real story is much more boring than that completely fictional quote.
Coyle, who releases her debut album in November, has apparently spoken to Cole following months of probably imagined snubs.
A source said:
“Nadine desperately wants to be friends with all of her Girls Aloud bandmates, despite whatever?s happened in the past and things that have been said.
“Nadine?s been having fun with Brit celebs out in Hollywood who?ve told her life?s too short to spend time worrying and getting upset.”
Weirdly, a Spice Girl was involve in all this soul-searching rubbish.
“Her pal Mel B was the catalyst. Mel suggested she picked up the phone.
“Mel told her to not dwell on gossip, wondering who's said what and why, but to just be the bigger person and make amends.”
Perhaps Mel B should think about not dwelling on negativity and the like when she slags Eddie Murphy by calling him;
“Beverley Hills Cock.”
Anyway, things are all rosy in the Girls Aloud camp again… that is, of course, until Coyle and Cole’s records come out at the same time later this year. Let the inevitable bitching begin.
