Holy Jesus, what the hell is this? Well, OK, we know what it is – it's Set Fire To The Face On Fire by The Blood Brothers – but if we didn't know that, we'd swear to god it was the sound of a nursery school being electrocuted by a maniac with a ghetto blaster.
To say that Set Fire To The Face On Fire sounds like a kick in the face would be a grave understatement. Is it punk? Is it prog? Is it jazz? One thing's for sure – it's angrier than hecklerspray at a James Blunt concert. The Blood Brothers are a Seattle-based five-piece who know all the right people – one of Liars did the artwork for their single, one of Fugazi co-produced their album, they have a b-side that's been remixed by one of Yeah Yeah Yeahs – but Set Fire To The Face On Fire proves that they're more than just a bunch of angry, well-connected hipsters; drums pound, guitars clang and two blokes at the front yell "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" as hard as they can. Is Set Fire To The Face On Fire by The Blood Brothers good or bad? We're buggered if we know – frankly we're too scared to listen to it again.

The Blood Brothers have more to say about the fake music industry in “Set Fire To The Face on Fire” than Holden Caulfield had to say about the world around him in “The Catcher in the Rye”. If you can’t bear the sound of the music, read the lyrics here:
