Well if this isn’t a case of mess versus mess than I don’t know what is (not true, I do: Mel Gibson versus Farrah Abraham, but whatever). On Saturday, Russell Crowe and Azealia Banks were at a dinner party together at the Beverly Hills Hotel which, I know, screams random.
Both are apparently pals with rapper-actor RZA, and as the story goes, it was Crowe’s dinner party and Banks came as RZA’s guest. Clearly RZA is a fucking idiot, because you don’t bring a mess who wants to fight everyone to the dinner of another mess who wants to fight everyone. So, yeah, a fight happened.
Though differing versions of what went down is being released (the real version vs. the delusional, racist, natural born killers version that Azealia ‘I WILL FIGHT YOU’ Banks has put out there), what seems to be true is that after the dinner party Crowe, RZA, Banks and about 10 other people went back to Crowe’s hotel room and drinks and music and stuff.
TMZ reports that multiple sources confirm that Banks, being the absolute pleasure she is, began making fun of the music Crowe was picking out and called him and another guest ‘boring white men’, because that is 100% how you should act when you’re a guest in someone’s hotel room probably drinking their booze for free.
An unnamed woman then told Banks to pipe down because she was being a judgey ‘too cool for this party’ bitch. Clearly this unnamed woman did not know who she was talking to, because you better fucking believe Azealia Banks brought the full on crazy. Witnesses say the kind-of-rapper-who-really-just-had-212 lost her shit and let loose a string of threats towards the woman and Crowe and dropped a bunch of N-bombs and had to be held back from throwing her glass at other guests. Or, as Azealia Banks calls it, a typical, maybe even casual, evening out.
Given that she was acting like a psychotic child throwing an insane tantrum, Crowe decided to pick her up, put her in the hallway, and called security to remove her from the hotel. On Sunday, Banks took to the internet to tell her side of the story:
To recap my night, I went to a party at Russell crowes suite, at which he called me a n—-r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me. Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today.
Here’s the thing: could I believe that Russell Crowe threw her out and spat at her? Oh my god, yes. But do I think Russell Crowe choked a woman in front of a room full of people? Probably not. Do I think he used the N-word in front of his cool Black friends? Probably not. Russell is like an angry drunk at the bar who wants to fight everyone like an Irishmen, and Irishmen don’t fight like the way Banks is describing.
Apparently Banks has filed a police report so I’m sure that will be released soon enough, but, in all seriousness, this is 100% RZA’s fault for letting these two in the same room. Shame on you, RZA. Shame.

Following celebrities is kind of like following sports teams….it does not matter who wins or what was done (great gasp by some), it changes all the time and does not affect the economy, the environment, our social or political structure. It is 100% forgettable to the average citizen. Yet there will always be cornballs who think this stuff matters. I will go further and suggest that TMZ viewers should do something with their lives other than sit in front of the TV. Find a woman (or man), get a hobby, learn a craft, go outside and explore nature, donate your time to a cause (animal cruelty, childhood obesity, fighting pollution, helping the elderly), visit a friend or relative (family matters), Remember you are giving up part of your life to your everyday activities, make it count!
