Have you ever wanted to own a celebrity's old bathing suit? What about their
12 year old toaster – would you want that? Any desire at all for their
childhood banana-seat bike?
Of course, all those questions can be answered with a resounding 'You
betcha!' What may surprise you is that the world recently had a chance
to own famous crap like that. Tori Spelling, pale, skinny actress extraordinaire, had a garage sale. A garage sale that you were invited to.
We're told her 13 copies of the 90210 VHS collection were going for
cheap, but people really didn't want to be seen taking that up to the
counter.
Celebrities make too much money. If you're one of those ritzy famous
people that can afford things like a garage, then yes, we're talking
about you. And as if it's not bad enough that they have fancy indoor
parking accommodations attached to the side of their houses, sometimes
they like to invite the common man into said garage so they can watch
us all 'ooh' and 'aah' at the wonder of it all.
Take Tori Spelling for instance, when she's not probably paying people to write about what it was like growing up as her,
she's hawking her her old wares suburbia style. Items available at her
garage sale were a plastic Starbucks mug with a smidgeon of Tori's lip
stick still on it, a Furbie with no lip stick on it, custom made roller
skates possibly covered in eye liner, and maybe or maybe-not an urn
conspicuously labeled 'Dad' for some reason or other. Spelling said of her garage sale purposes:
''I had to break away from the past and be ready to
start anew. It's out with the old, in with the new. I'm having the sale
because we're moving and my taste has changed. Plus I'm a notorious
pack rat. I keep everything.''
The sale was said to have been filmed for what sounds like a pretty dull episode of Spelling's VH1 show So NoTORIous. Now we've never seen the show, but we hear it's a pretty blatant rip off of Stargate: Atlantis.
That's just what we heard.
