Red Hot Chili Peppers In Illegal Download Boo-Hoo Tantrum
Stadium Arcadium, the rubbishly-titled new double album by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, is out on Monday. And thanks to the wonders/evils of the Internet, you can probably download it for free without too much trouble.
And this has sent The Red Hot Chili Peppers into a frenzied state of anger. "NO!" we can imagine the band bellowing, slumped to their knees and pounding the floor with their bloodied fists, "They were supposed to realise how disappointingly bloated the new album was after they paid £11 for it!"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are reportedly furious that someone has slapped Stadium Arcadium, their new album, on the internet for everyone to illegally download for free. And, like most of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' babbling nonsense – like realising five years after everyone else that George Bush isn't very brilliant or professing undying love for Jodie Foster or wigging out when someone tried to interview them in a way that didn't obviously pander to their egos – it all came from bassist Flea's Fleamail journal:
"For people to just steal a poor sound quality version of it for free
because some asshole stole it and put it on the internet is sad to me… I cannot put in words how much this record… means to us,
how sacred the sound of it is to us… and now, for someone to take it
and put it out there with this poor sound quality, it is a painful pill
for us to swallow."
If you've illegally downloaded Stadium Arcadium by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, then shame on you – those millionaire mansion-dwelling MOR rockstars have got mouths to feed, dammit!
Plus, you're not getting the full Stadium Arcadium experience if you illegally download it. Not only will the sound quality be very slightly worse if you download it, but you'll also miss out on other things; like wading through all the unnecessary songs about the time that one of their pets died or the song that goes "Wrap me in your cinnamon/ Especially in Michigan," and looking at the traditionally dreadful Red Hot Chili Peppers album artwork.
