Thanks to her endless drunken, cocaine-trousered run-ins with the law and subsequent rehab stints, it's been easy for people to forget about Lindsay Lohan's talents as an actress.
However, that's all changed now that people are noticing how terrible an actress Lindsay Lohan can be. This year's Razzie nominations have just been announced, and Lindsay Lohan has swept the board, managing to be nominated for Worst Couple, and Worst Actress twice – all for the same movie.
Oh, and Norbit is bad too, but you knew that.
The Razzies are traditionally the antidote to the overwhelmingly stuffy, smug award season blather that's usually so suffocating at this time of year. But this year is different – the writers' strike meant that the Golden Globes were reduced to a press conference, and the fate of the Grammys and the Oscars is uncertain at best.
So in a year when awards shows are already doing a phenomenal job of making themselves look utterly ridiculous, do we need Razzies? Is there really that much to gain from having the Razzies in 2008?
Probably not. But when have we ever missed a chance to give Lindsay Lohan a good kicking?
You'll have noticed that Lindsay Lohan has entered an important second stage in her career lately, where she's turned her back on playing the adorable lead in films about magic cars, magic parents or magic sort of luck-based curses in favour of playing wankers in films that people would rather slit their arse open than watch, most notably in last year's I Know Who Killed Me.In I Know Who Killed Me, Lindsay Lohan plays a forgetful stripper. Or maybe two forgetful strippers.
One of whom knows who killed her. Look, we haven't seen it, you haven't seen it – unless you have seen it, in which case get out – and so we don't know how bad the film is.
But we're going to guess 'pretty bad' because in total I Know Who Killed Me picked up Razzie nominations for Worst Film, Worst Screenplay, Worst Director, Worst Horror, Worst Remake/Rip-Off, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Couple (for Lindsay Lohan and Linday Lohan) and Worst Actress. And Worst Actress again.
Lindsay Lohan, the actress so bad that she was nominated twice for the same thing.
According to Razzies founder John Wilson:
"`I Know Who Killed Me' is the most fabulously brainless movie since `Showgirls'. By the end of it, you still don't know what happened. Are they twins or aren't they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?"
But to give all the Razzies attention to Lindsay Lohan and I Know Who Killed Me would be unfair to Norbit – the movie that killed Eddie Murphy's hopes of winning an Oscar from Dreamgirls has earnt Murphy more Razzies nominations than anyone else this year. Eddie Murphy is up for Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Actor, Worst Supporting Actress and Worst Couple for his efforts.
Let's not forget the real spirit of the Razzies, though – giggling at Nicholas Cage. And this year is no different – Nicholas Cage is up for Worst Actor for National Treasure: Book Of Secrets, Next and Ghost Rider.
That's a pretty good showing for a year in which Cage didn't run up a hill and punch a woman in the face dressed as a bear.

ghost rider is the worst film ever. nicolas cage only has one facial expression – gormless.
