We’re in the middle of remake season with The A-Team hitting the big screen, a new Tron due soon and a terrible rehash of The Karate Kid hitting the screens. Now, another remake that looks rather intriguing. Ladies and Gents, there’s going to be a film version of Quantum Leap. Sorry if you were hoping for a new version of StreetHawk or Manimal (we’re holding out for both of these before the year is out).
This news came out almost unnoticed from Comic-Con and could certainly lend itself rather well to the big screen.
But will it star Scott Bakula?
Blastr reports that, at the “A Leap of Faith?A Quantum Leap Retrospective” panel, Scott Bakula shared the big news with the 600 fans who attended:
Quantum Leap creator Donald P. Bellisario is on board and currently working on the script and, apparently, has a big time Hollywood producer who wants to shoot.
Sadly, Scott Bakula is considered too old for the main role, but it isn’t all bad news as Dean Stockwell (who played Al) and Bakula will have a part in the new version in some respect.
Great news as Quantum Leap was indeed one of the best things on the box at one time. Nowhere near as good as Manimal, but still, great news.
Now. Where did we put those Ghostbusters 3 rumours…
