There's not really much to say about Pete Doherty anymore. Oh, apart from "what a wonderfully talented, intelligent and thoroughly down-to-earth sort of fella he truly is."

But then that would just be lying.

In a turn of events that has surprised absolutely no-one, Pete Doherty – Official Deluded Public Schoolgirl Pin-up 2006 – has been arrested yet again on suspicion of drug possession. What really elevates this story above his usual flailing bouts of smackheaded stupidity, however, is that poor old Pointless Pete had only just made his last court appearance that very morning.

Pete Doherty, the 'Kwik-Save Sid Vicious' (much kudos to the Holy Moly mailout for bringing that little gem into the vocabulary), was hovering around East London when the cops hoisted his pasty ass to the curb. A Scotland Yard spokesman announced:

"A 27-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested after a vehicle was stopped in Roman Road, E2, by plain clothed officers who were carrying out a patrol in an unmarked police car. They were arrested on on suspicion of possessing what was believed to be class A drugs with the intent to supply."

Hold on there… intent to supply? Surely our Pete – bazillionaire jet-setting rock star that he is – isn't a bit short of cash? Surely he wouldn't resort to drug dealing?

hecklerspray certainly isn't going to make any accusations. We're definitely not going to cast any aspersions as to Pete Doherty's financial status. And it's just as well that Pete doesn't still owe money for Babyshambles recording sessions and unpaid mobile phone bills, information that has definitely not been discovered via entirely reliable sources.

Not a chance.
