Paul McCartney (CDs) is set to copy Madonna (CDs) and write a children’s book, called High In The Clouds.
McCartney, probably most famous for being the singer in Wings, got the idea for the story from an animated film he worked on last year, called Tropical Island Hum, with animator Geoff Dunbar.
Paul McCartney says of High In The Clouds, "Having worked on this story and the characters for many years, it’s
very exciting for me to see things come to fruition in what I think
will be a remarkable book."
No Paul, it won’t be a remarkable book. It’s a book about a squirrel and a frog in a hot air balloon. At least Madonna tried to incorporate some religious teachings into her children’s books. What’s yours about? A squirrel. And a frog. In a hot air balloon. A cute squirrel and a cute frog, admittedly.
Writing children’s books is a lucrative job, not to mention really
easy. You just bung a bunch of cute animals together and they all learn
something basic about life, like not talking to strangers, not running
with scissors or not mixing your drinks during a 16-hour mammoth
booze-up.
Anyone who doubts our scepticism about this latest Paul McCartney venture needs to be reminded of the last time he tried to entertain children. Then, he came up with The Frog Chorus (We All Stand Together), a direct precursor to the Crazy Frog ringtone.
Enough said.
