There is a book coming out called The Michael Jackson Tapes, and it looks set to send a few jaws hurtling towards the floor, then shattering, whilst eyes pop out on stalks, then go back in again. Kind of like in cartoons. Because, in the book, the crazy melty-clownface, during an interview with a learned Oxford University rabbi, thought he’d explain his admiration for Adolf Hitler, list a few women he could probably have done it with had he felt like it, and, at one point, he thought it would be wise to give a pair of child murderers a great big hug.
Oh dear, Michael. Oh dear.
It was all going so well, with the new single coming out, then the film of the build up to his big comeback tour. But now, it looks like a big turd is about to be smudged on the Jackson memories.
Talking to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Jackson declared:
“Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman.”
In the very same interview – conducted about eight years ago, with view to being aired/publicised – Jackson also talked about women, claiming that Cindy Crawford had flirted pretty heavily with him, he would possibly have considered going out with Liz Taylor, but didn’t want the whole world to look at them with arched eyebrows, calling them an “odd couple”. And he seemed convinced that Madonna was totally in love with him, but unfortunately, she wasn’t to Jacko’s tastes:
“She is not sexy at all”
He would, he insisted, have rather dated Princess Diana, but he never had the guts to ask her out.
In another strange segment of proceedings – featured in the Daily Mail Online – the King of Pop referred to the Jamie Bulger killers, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, seemingly convinced that the pair of them just needed a good cuddle.
“I bet if you trace their life you can find they didn’t have parents around, didn’t have any love, nobody there to hold them, look in their eyes and say I love you. They deserve that, even though they’re going to get life. I want to say I love you and hold them.”
As posthumous interviews go, this one looks set to further split the consensus regarding the King of Pop, who, really, in hindsight, should have probably turned down any interview opportunities that came his way. It never seemed to go particularly swimmingly.

See, this is NO coincidence.
They have tried everything from the recent drug depositions, to Michael trashing his family in tape, to now this.
This Rabbi is a man who is hellbent on smearing MJ’s name. He’s mad about this new movie and is upset that MJ wouldn’t write a stupid book with him.
I have seen MJ at his worst with the worst accusations thrown at him but no more.
I am a fan and I do not want to give this Rabbi anymore attention.
And Michael doesn’t use the word “orator”.

Michael Jackson was a deluded freakshow who mutilated his own face and liked to sleep with little boys, by his own admission. He bought his children from god knows where, bleached that poor little boy’s hair white, and yet somehow people STILL defend him? Give me a break! While I don’t wish anyone dead, it’s clear he was a really messed up, spoiled, and disgusting person. You have to be crazy to keep blaming Wacko Jacko’s trainwreck of a life on people being “jealous” or other such nonsense. There is nothing to admire about him.

Why can’t MJ lovers admit the guy was a HUMAN BEING
Not perfect, but for cryin out loud, MJ agreed to do the interviews with him. Oh right, MJ didn’t say “orator” but he still praised Hitler!!!
What is it going to take for your idjits to realize HE WAS A MAN, and a far from perfect one I might add.
Tony and Friend are obviously living in an echo chamber, any random MJ mention that might not be nice, they come out with knives…Dudes, get a life.
M.Y. says
Sorry but conceding that Hitler was a genius at inspiring hate and fear is NOT “praising” him!
As far as I’m concerned, this Boteach is yet another bandwagon leech who abandoned MJ at the lowest point in his life and, is now trying to capitalize on his death now that “attitudes have softened” toward him.
What a wretch!

I don’t think that Michael was the first person who said that Hitler was a great orator. Therefore, it seems dopey that so much attention should be paid to this comment. Hitler was CRAZY, but must have been a convincing speaker as he was able to rile people up into the most unspeakable acts.
Further, does anyone want to grown old? Does anyone want to look at wrinkles and age spots? I seem to recall Greta Garbo saying “I vant to be alone” once she was too old (in her mind) for public view. After having spent his entire life in the public eye, going through puberty and other awkward ages, shouldn’t he have been allowed to decided if and when he wanted to be viewed by the public?
As for Rabbi Schmuley, he has been banned from any pulpit in Great Britain and involved Michael in a number of fund raisers where the money later disappeared. Rabbi Schmuley should similarly disappear from public view.

There is no way in He** I m going to believe this shi*. Where do these people come from? Unbelievable, I guess because he’s a so called rabbi he thinks people will believe this crap. Michael tried to save the world, not kill it. He’s trying to tell us Michael had jekyll and hyde thing going on here. There is no way MJ would sit up a record anything like that. A book that was supposed to come out 8 years ago, I don

Misquoting Shmuley already? Here is his response:
Michael Jackson Despised Hitler and was Never an Anti-Semite

So if he said that about Hitler, he was right!
Hitler was a genious orator, an evil, malefic one, but a genious! To have the abbility to convince masses to follow you the way he did, one needs a spark of a genious. And I guess no one here can say that Hitler was an idiot. He was a criminal, and used his malefic intelligence for criminal purposes, but this does not make him less of a (evil)genious.
And coming back to MJ, if you properly read the sentence above you will never see anything like “praising” Hitler, or showing agreement of any kind to what he has done, was just aknowledging the fact that he must have been highly intelligent to be able to take power and control the masses the way he did.
Use your brains people, do not write b* just like the famous media always does. Don’t let your brains rost, and do not jump to embrace the interpretation the media is delivering to you on a poisoned plate.
You have eyes, and you have brains: use them!

They showed the worst pics and tried to turn around feelings of him that they can’t understand..all for money..of course.I’m not buying. Mike’s not here so wtf. Rabbi?

money is all this Rabbi can think of, he knows he can surely make quick money out of his so-called masterpiece as he knows very well people in general are curious and he could conveniently take advantage of this human nature to make his easy money. again this proves that one who is well educated doesn’t necessarily be decent and honest, instead the well educated men always behave as low, cheap and greedy. what’s worst in this Rabbi is he shows us how starving he is of $$$$ that he couldn’t wait to destroy another person’s name – a great person who just passed away 3 months ago. money can really make people ugly and this Rabbie is exactly one ugly SOB.
more than you know says
Actually, his comment on Hitler is true. Let’s not make more of it than it is. He never stated he admired Hitler. Why are you trying to make it something that it is not?
He states that Hitler caused people to turn on their previous nature and be overcome with hate because he was a showman. What part of that isn’t true? Unfortunately, as we all know, he was even more of a madman than he was a showman, and Michael knew that too.
Actually, I’m wondering what your motivation is here. You seem to be in league with the Rabbi, who is most certainly a dishonorable man.
Eugene says
I’m no MJ fan, but you’re really reaching for it with this item.
The fact of the matter is that the Hitler comment is right on the money. Hitler may have been one of the most evil people in history, but he *was* a genius orator. I’m not sure I would have brought this up in discussion with a Rabbi, mind you.
The way the header of the article is written, I expected to hear that MJ had expressed admiration for Hitler’s beliefs or similar.
You guys have gotten plenty of mileage out of MJ recently. I don’t think there was any call to run this.

I can almost hear the clapping of journalists hands around the world when this ‘story’ broke. For a few days now it has seemed like there has been a rare charity in the air, a softening, a sense that maybe finally there can be some dulling of the venom directed towards Michael Jackson and the events of his turbulent arc of a life. Whether this is a result of Madonna, Janet, copious looping of Michael’s music on a million ipods everywhere, the anticipation of the release of This-Is-It or a combination of these variables; it has been like suddenly being allowed to breathe fresh air around the moulding pond in the back corner of a condemned garden. Madonna’s heartfelt invitation for us to remember Michael as a human being, one plagued with insecurities and imperfections was a powerful time-out to all the judging, moralizing and criticism we’ve all witnessed whenever Michael Jackson’s name comes up. So it must be high times now in the darkened offices and loft apartments across America’s media fraternity as this loathsome little story breaks.
Forget Michael being an anti-semite, who is standing up for this man as his name is again dragged through the mud for no reason – only difference this time is that he can’t answer back or expand on his out of context words. It has also been clearly established – not to paint Michael as some sort of incompetent, that he was ‘using’ by the end of his life, so who knows what state he was in when this rather leading exchange took place. Michael clearly can be quoted as saying Hitler was ‘ able to make that many people turn, change and hate…’ Could someone kindly tell me where the offence is in this statement, as to me it is a simple statement of fact. Hitler ‘ was ‘ an incredible orator, history shows us this demonstrably. His words did ‘ move ‘ people, moved them to terrible acts of unspeakable violence, cruelty and depravity that affected and still affects generations of people today. He was able to do this, because, firstly: Hitler was a maladjusted, walking storm of fury, accumulated slights, unprocessed fear and hate; and secondly, because the people ‘ wanted ‘ to be moved. And that rather neatly, but with great weariness and a kind of sadness actually, brings me to my final point. If you ‘want’ to believe Michael Jackson – a man, whom even the most hard-hearted amongst us, would surely admit had an extremely, ‘ extreme ‘ life – is a ‘nazi’ ; lets make sure it’s based on fact. Declaring Hitler to be a powerful orator was probably the opening line of my history essay at college in England. It’s a statement of fact, not empathy. If we, in these supposedly sophisticated times can’t tell the difference between the two – are we any better than the crowds in Nuremberg?

Way to take things out of context. You obviously didn’t post the COMPLETE quotes. They weren’t as bad as you make them seem. Idiot.

U Michael haters shud just get a life. Michael was a kind, charitable, beautiful person who was so misunderstood. Wat with all the crap the media was hurtling towards him. As far as I m concerned he’s in heaven where he should be given his big kind forgiving heart. Bless his soul!
Tori says
I agree with M.Y.’s comment. Acknowledging Hitler’s ability to speak and persuade toward hate is not praising Hitler’s actions. It is just pointing out the skill set that allowed him to control so many people. If you read the book, which I have, MJ shows great disgust in Hitler’s actions. This is a quote that is taken from among a whole discussion of the evils of the Holocaust. If you read the whole passage, you would better understand how Michael viewed the Holocaust and Hitler.
As for him wanting to hug killers, he is just pointing out that everybody needs love to be a good, functional person. This just shows the extent of his sympathy for those that aren’t given love. It in no way condones murder.
I recognize that Michael does have flaws, as all people do, but these extreme statements are unfair hits at Michael’s character. Before you judge, try to see the person as a whole and not base your opinion of them off from a random statement that is pulled out of context and misconstrued.
