***LATEST NEW JAMES BOND BETTING ODDS! CLICK HERE***
So the race to find a new James Bond is coming to an end, with even the BBC reporting about mysterious "final stages" of casting.
According to reports, four actors are being screen-tested: Daniel Craig, Henry Cavill, Sam Worthington and Goran Visnjic – who isn’t even in the Betfair running. Does Betfair know something the rest of us don’t? Or has it dropped the ball a little bit? Chances are we’ll find out soon enough.
But what if none of those four get the gig? Luckily, there are plenty of outsiders to choose from. Let’s have a look at the latest betting odds for four of them, with a little bit of help from Betfair.com…
Sam Worthington – Of the top four contenders, Sam Worthington is
perhaps the least-known. What can we tell you about him? Well, he’s the youngest
of the four, which is a good thing. He’s Australian, which – based on
previous Bond experience – is a bad thing. He’s about to star in a
modern-day Australian version of Macbeth, which is a confusing thing.
And he’s got a perfectly triangular head. Current odds – 5/1
Martin Kemp – He’d love that, wouldn’t he? After leaving Eastenders
to do big things, Martin promptly vanished from everyone’s screens and
memories. In his mind, he’s a super-smooth former rockstar actor heart-throb. In reality, he’s a balding ex-soapstar.
There’s not much between Martin Kemp and Barry from Eastenders, and
just for that reason he’d be a rubbish Bond. Although he does have a metal head, so that has
to count for something. Current odds – 27/1
Matthew Macfadyen – We can see Matthew playing Bond. But that’s
mainly because he was in Spooks, and we have very limited imaginations.
He’s also flouncing all over UK cinema screens as Mr Darcy in Pride And
Prejudice at the moment, so he’ll have a big female following by now.
But it’s sometimes hard to tell whether the characters he plays are all
repressed, or if he’s just not that great at acting. Ah, what does that
matter, he’ll be playing James Bond. Current odds – 28/1
Michael Barrymore – What. The. Fuck? Current odds – 45/1
