Hooray hooray hooray, it's Friday today!
Stick a slick hip-hop beat under those red hot lyrics and we?ll become overnight sensations on MySpace/YouTube and a dozen other social networking sites that have yet to be invented. We?ll even let you be in our posse if we like you.
Whilst our musical dreams are realistically never going to happen, we are quietly confident that Bombay Bicycle Club will go a lot further than us. The difference between us and them is that they can play instruments and can write lyrics that don't sound like something a seven-year-old would cook up.
Is it wrong to possibly try and class Bombay Bicycle Club as something in order to help possibly get a better idea of their sound? The basic category you could lump them in would be ?indie?. But then again, plenty of bands get tagged with this in this very loose grouping. From Bloc Party to Radiohead to Doves they have at some point been dubbed as indie despite them all having a very distinct and different sound.
So, if we could really badly reclassify music genres we?d put U2 in the grouping of ?overhyped mass-market rubbish?. For Bombay Bicycle Club, there is a very chilled-out and relaxed vibe that buzzes through all of their tracks. So we?d badly reclassify them as ?feelgood indie merchants?. Bollocks isn't it? We don't expect them to be rebranding anytime soon with our endorsement.
With a steady selection of releases already behind them, the band has plenty of music out there to feed the appetite of any keen fans. New single Always Like This is a cracking example of the band?s sound and we're quietly confident that it'll sneak onto an album when one is crafted together.

A band that has been together for 30+ years…the original lineup still intact(no other band has managed that) and they just put out “No Line On The Horizon” one of their best albums ever…yet you would classify them as “overhyped mass market rubbish”
Because that’s the indie high horse musical snob that you are,Matthew.
We get it…you’re too cool to like U2…except you’re not cool…you’re just another indie snob asshole..revel in it,you douche.

It’s strange Jack, but when U2 returned some broadcast channel called The BBC decided to give them silly amounts of coverage on prime time chatshows, film a special gig for fans that was done for Radio 1 and stick it on internet for the world to see. You’d have thought that they’d need nothing like that if there that big and apparently popular. They weren’t worried there shit album would be a flop and needed to ram it down our throats would they?
Shame the same isn’t being down for bands like Bombay Bicycle Club to give them some limelight. Looks like they’ll have to actually win people over with continual good music, playing lots of gigs and not being arrogant tax dodging tossers.
