Matt LeBlanc And Whoever His Wife Is Split

It’s always sad when a famous person splits with his wife, especially when we didn’t even know that they were married. And when they’ve just been fired from a rubbish sitcom, just like Matt LeBlanc.

Matt LeBlanc is splitting with Melissa, his wife of three years, after discovering that she enjoys wearing deflated balloons over her fingers and walking around her house backwards while singing She Bangs through a children’s Darth Vader mask. No, just kidding - it’s irreconcilable differences as usual for Matt LeBlanc and his soon-to-be ex wife.

If it weren’t for Matthew Perry or Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc would
be the unluckiest, most rubbish former member of the Friends cast. Not
for Matt the endless column acres that Jennifer Aniston’s love life has created, the vague critical acclaim of David Schwimmer in the West End or, er, all that stuff that Courtney Cox has been getting up to.

No, Matt LeBlanc - following a brief string of depressingly uninspiring movie roles - was happy to reprise his Friends role as Joey
Tribbiani for the Joey sitcom - a move that would have provided a
secure future for Matt LeBlanc had the show not been so brutally dreadful.
Joey died on its arse, and now it looks as if the LeBlanc marriage has,
too. Joe Libonati, Matt LeBlanc’s rep, said in a statement:

"Melissa and Matt LeBlanc have decided to end their marriage of three
years. The
dissolution is amicable. They remain devoted parents and friends. For
the sake of their family, they ask that their privacy be respected at
this time."

According
to claims, Melissa and Matt LeBlanc are looking to get joint custody of
their two-year-old daughter Marina following the split. Melissa also has two children from
a previous marriage. Legal documents filed by Matt state the date of
separation as January 1 2006 - which would have made for a fun New Year’s party, we’re sure.

We can’t help but feel that this split is mostly the fault of Lou Diamond Phillips. He introduced Matt LeBlanc to Melissa, after all, and - as we didn’t really like him in Young Guns - we’ve been trying to pin something on him for years. And what kind of middle name is Diamond, anyway?
