As Jon & Kate Plus 8 proves, Kate Gosselin is an expert at being a bit sloppy when it comes to contraception.
Being a mother. We meant Kate Gosselin is an expert at being a mother. But recently Kate Gosselin’s reputation has bottomed out spectacularly, and as a result her forthcoming cookbook has been shelved indefinitely.
But Kate Gosselin is a fighter, so she’s working on another book about her real strengths. That book – How To Slap Your Children In Public And Generally Behave So Shrewishly That Your Husband Looks Elsewhere For Affection The Kate Gosselin Way – will be out soon.
This might be a bit of a premature statement, but it looks as though the wheels have finally come off Jon & Kate Plus 8. Thanks to Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce, the whole show has been revealed as nothing but a sham. It’s no longer a good-natured series about a family with an irresponsibly large number of children – it’s a show about a horrible witch of a woman who beats her children up while her husband sneaks off to possibly have it away with a schoolteacher.
Because of all the sudden revelations, Jon & Kate Plus 8 is officially on hiatus for a month – presumably so that the TLC marketing department can rebrand the show Jon & Kate Plus H8 and change the theme tune to a choir of sobbing children singing Lonely by Akon – which puts a hole in the side of Kate Gosselin’s plans to wring every last penny she can out of the show. But no matter, Kate Gosselin is an enterprising sort and she’s always got her career as a best-selling author to fall back on.
In addition to her books Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets and Eight Little Faces – which incidentally holds the record for the motherhood guide with the most nightmarishly creepy title – Kate Gosselin had been getting ready to publish a new tome entitledLove Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories. But now she isn’t.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Kate Gosselin’s publisher has decided to shelve Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories, perhaps indefinitely:
Looks as if Kate Gosselin’s new book ?Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals Into Memories,? will simmer on the back burner for a while. Maybe even forever. Christian book publisher Zondervan has decided to hold off on publication. Why the delay? Maybe there just isn’t quite as ravenous an appetite now for “an inside look at one of America’s most close-knit families”?
Now that’s just cynical. We’re almost completely positive that Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories wasn’t shelved because Kate Gosselin has recently been outed as the cruel matriarch of a broken family. No, we’re sure that it’s because someone at Zondervan had worked out that the easiest way to make a meal into a memory is to eat the meal and then think about it for a bit, and that’d be quite hard to pad out into an entire book.
But, as is becoming hopelessly apparent, Kate Gosselin won’t go away that easily. Give it a couple of months and she’s bound to bring out a Coping With Divorce handbook. Not because she’s got anything particularly profound to say on the matter, you understand, but because it gives her the perfect opportunity to go on a book tour, which then gives her the perfect opportunity to scream “Leave me alone! Why won’t you vultures respect my privacy?” at the people who’ve come to have their books signed by her.

Kate Gosselin is probably so sorry she did all the things she did to contribute to the breakup of this marriage. Not because she wants a stable home for her children which would include their father, but because she actually helped to bring down the goose that laid the golden egg. There are comments being made about the 10.9 million viewers to the “special announcement show” and how popular the Gosselins are and that proves it. I happen to be one of the people to start to watch the show, and the only reason was, I wanted to hear them say they were cancelling the show for the sake of the children. Of course, that did not happen. They will stretch out this thing as long as they can because they LOVE the money. They don’t give a damn about those kids. They will subject them to mourning their parents divorce in public for the sake of the almighty dollar. They both make me sick. And now they won’t comment to the media any longer. Well, aren’t they special. They have already done the damage. They are only going to be around a short time because they are done. They are pathetic. Jon who wanted nothing more to do with the show is now going to do it with Kate, well, not WITH Kate, but taking turns with Kate. That should be interesting. You will have to let me know because I will never watch it again. I did not watch the 10 year sap because it just goes to show you the damage inflicted on a family that choses to do Reality. Get out for the sake of the children! TLC should be ashamed. They all should

I would classify Kate’s book as in the same category as the book on parenting celebrities that Lynne Spears was going to release — At least until one daughter went nuts and the other got pregnant at 16.
The book then was (surprise!) re-cast as a biography.

Look, I love my celebrity muck as much as the next man, but I have to ask – who in god’s name are these people? Will I be rewarded with entertainment if I try harder?

Sorry guys. She’s fantastic and alot of people actually like her despite ‘blogs’ like this.

I am so sick of hearing everyone say how bad Kate is, I am a mother of 5 sons and let me tell you a know the stress. So she slapped her child on the butt get over it. Most of the people in this would got that growing up and we are all fine. I think the media distroyed a good family. Jon is strong and will be fine and Kate is powerful and will too be fine. The children fine too. GET OVER IT. MOST PEOPLE HATE HER FOR HAVING WHAT THEY ARE TO WEAK TO HAVE AND THATS POWER.
Christy says
Give these people a break… They still are a great family just changed. You can see the love of both Jon and Kate for the kids and they have not been subjected to any abuse. When you watch the show the kids love the cameras and the staff as part of the family.. Please leave this family alone…

I could write pages about how I feel, but instead I’m going to pull a Chris Crocker and say, “Leave Kate alone!!!” haha…

I do want to leave this family alone but they are the one who choose to be in the public eye. TLC(The Learning Channel)? shame on you!!!! I feel sad for those kids.

What difference does it make? She never wrote the first two books. Anyone who has watched the show knows the woman doesn’t even have command of the English language. Still wondering about her cookbook? Ok – take two pieces of bread, spread mayonnaise on one side, add meat and cut on the diagonal. There one Kate Gosselin’s secret “recipes”.

Its called a reality show, so if you watch you get it all. The good, bad and ugly. If you film the life any family in world you would see the joy and the tears.
Kate is a strong women and that sometimes comes across as hard. It is just survival, and she is doing what she needs to do to survive.
Jon let her take the lead because it was easier then him being responsible. This is the case in most homes where Mom is home and Dad is working. Remember he worked in the beginning.
I was raised in a family of 10 children and my Mom ruled. However when Dad really stood up we all listened!! They seperated for awhile, and yes we kids suffered the most. Thank God the faith they both had helped them work it out and they had a stronger message.
Did we get slap once in while? You bet we did! Are we damaged? No.
Your right you shouldn’t watch as you can’t take reality. As for me my heart aches for each and everyone of them.
Jealous of WHAT? says
M Wilson, Kate deserves all the bad press she’s getting, and more. She’d do well to realize that the qualities of graciousness and humility could have served her far better than naked greed and self-righteousness have done. And these karmic paybacks are only just beginning; in fact, once the show ends — and it’s just a matter of time now — the confidentiality agreements will expire and formerly reluctant witnesses will finally step up and connect all the dots, fill in the color, and supply a bombastic score and soundtrack. Until then, your barely coherent, hair-trigger defensive (with its missing verbs, misspellings, and passive aggression) isn’t helping her cause much at all. With blind supporters like you, “powerful” Kate needs fewer enemies.

Kids, read up on the article about Narcissists..replace they by your mom
ie they ( MOM) make like they are always right..
They (Mom) dramatize the most insignifigant things..
etc..

I think the reason Kate is disliked is because her words don’t match her actions. She says her kids come first but if that were really true she would not subject them to such a heinous invasion of their privacy. She also said about her previous book that she only wrote it for her kids and didn’t care if it ever sold a single copy. But again her actions betray her words because she was away from her kids for months promoting that book. So it’s really annoying that she thinks that she has something to teach us regular noncelebrity mothers.

If you fans of Kate think you know her better than her ex-family members,ex-friends, ex-colleagues and ex-neighbors, then you are as delusional as she is.
The truth about Kate is being revealed and it is ugly.

The recent publicity has brought greater attention to the Jon and Kate plus 8 disaster. People watched in droves, judged the show and didn’t like what they saw. Ratings for this week’s episode dropped 90% from last week.
What a hideous woman! If she is so powerful let’s see her make it without using her eight innocent children. Oh, and people aren’t jealous, they are horrified at her greed and lack of basic human characteristics. She uses the children for cash, something most decent people frown upon. She is cruel to her husband and to her children — all documented on film. She is too despicable to even pity — she should be shunned. She drove off her husband and the moment her children are old enough to escape, they will. The show needs to end, now. Those children need to be protected, not exploited.
alana says
Christy,
Yes, you are correct about one thing. The Greedlin children enjoy interacting with the production crew. But did you ever think to consider why this is so? Simply because the children’s mother, Take Greedlin, has alienated and run off every single family member and friend that family has ever had. Take is so possessive and controlling of her eight little money maker$ that at the first sign of another doing anything from feeding them to providing fun and love for them, they disappear from the children’s lives. And how psychologically healthy do you think it is for these children to have TLC crew people as their only source of “friendships?” Children need peers to interact with in order to grow up – socially. I think the lack of peer interaction explains the obvious developmental delays in the six younger children; please don’t try to tell me it’s because they were “preemies.” No matter how you spin it, that argument is invalid. For those who ask “how else will the parents support the family?” Please! The money they already have can continue to “make money” long in to the future. That is, if the parents will stop spending it. I will continue to boycott this show and it’s sponsors, all things TLC, and all things Greedlin.

Would someone please contact Stacy Abernethy at the Cleveland Womens Show and convince her that Cleveland doesn’t need any parenting advise from Kate Gosselin?
Elizabeth says
Making meals into memories! In one fairly recent episode Kate sits on the interview couch and along with Jon explains how they enforce total silence (except for her and Jon, of course) at mealtime because the noise was too much for her. The children had to be completely silent throughout the entire meal – not one single sound or they would be “punished.” Then there was a clip of the children sitting at the table, apparently afraid to move much less talk. No doubt they knew the “red spoon” was nearby. I was really, really looking forward to the chapters on these fun love in the mix meals in her book – darn.
