Now that I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is halfway through, we’re beginning to learn a little more about the nature of celebrity.
Mainly, we’ve learnt that famous people are just as whiny, pathetically needy, grasping and insecure as you or I. And because they’re on the telly and you’re not, you can snigger and judge them and they don’t have the chance to retaliate. Fantastic! Throw betting into the mix and you have I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here: television gold.
Now that poor old anonymous Tommy Cannon has been the first celebrity to be voted off, who’s going to win the series? We’re glad you asked; here are the latest betting odds to win I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, with a splatter of help from Betfair.com…
Jilly Goolden – It says a lot about Jilly Goolden that, apart from
generally being a bit sniffy, the highlight of her I’m A Celebrity Get
Me Out Of Here experience was chewing on a kangaroo cock. Entire
episodes have passed without her even making a peep. Probably because
she was too busy thinking about chewing on a kangaroo cock. Current
odds – 90
Kimberley Davies – Kimberley Davies is a hard woman to read. That’s
because she only has one constant, frozen facial expression. Maybe to
preserve her looks she’s sworn never to move her face unnecessarily and
only communicates her feelings through a complex system of hairstyles.
Anyway, we’ve decided that the public doesn’t hate Kimberley – it just
doesn’t care about her very much. Current odds – 80
Antony Costa – We’ve met some phenomenally stupid people in our
time, but none have been so gigantically, bewilderingly dumb as Antony
Costa. Not that we have a problem with stupid people – unless they’re
driving our taxi (we’re not going through that again) – but
when they’re as angry and whiny and drunk as Antony, they can’t help but get on
our nerves. Yous too, judging by his odds. He’s been in the camp over a
week and still hasn’t finished a sentence correctly. Current odds – 44
Bobby Ball – Leaving aside the weird story we read a few months
back about Cannon And Ball’s live shows being 50% comedy and 50%
religious preaching, the cheeky northern hasbeen isn’t
faring too well in the jungle. As the camp
leader, temporarily freed from the controlling clutches of Tommy
Cannon, Bobby went all power-crazed and instantly turned off most of the
viewing audience. Current odds – 36
Jenny Frost – We haven’t learnt much we didn’t already know about
Jenny, to be honest. She’s a bit mouthy, she’s fairly forthright, she
has a minor speech impediment. She does like to dress her dog up like a
div, though. Current odds – 26
David Dickinson – Of all the campmates, David Dickinson’s mask has
probably slipped the most. Although he started the series all "Wahey,
I’m that crazy antiques guy! Cheap as chips! Cheap as chips!" he’s now
more "I’m not eating beans! I’m so hungry! I can’t shit! I hate you
all!" And there’s still another week left for David to have his
aneurysm. Current odds – 15.5
Jimmy Osmond – Jimmy Osmond, we’ll admit, is beginning to freak us
out. All he does is simper and laugh in a sinister way all the time.
And we’re not even going to mention the freakish, seasoning-filled
teddy bear with hellish light-up eyes and the voice of several
children. The man, people, is terrifying. Current odds – 9.6
Carol Thatcher – Carol Thatcher pissed on the floor and didn’t care.
Carol Thatcher drove a car off a bridge and didn’t care. Carol Thatcher
ate a pair of bollocks and didn’t care. Carol Thatcher spent a day with
Antony Costa and didn’t stab him in the chest. We’re beginning to
admire Carol Thatcher. Current odds – 6.4
Sid Owen – Sid Owen is no longer the favourite to win I’m A
Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, because he hasn’t really done anything of worth
since the first day he was in the jungle. He hasn’t done anything wrong
as such, but he hasn’t been very proactive in entertaining the nation.
He did a bit of a funny voice a few days ago, but it was too little,
too late. Current odds – 3.65
Sheree Murphy – Of course Sheree is the new favourite to win I’m A
Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here: she’s done a live Bushtucker Trial. Her crying and screaming performance was either hopelessly OTT of incredibly brave. Either way, she has won the nation over. Is Sheree benefiting
from a Bushtucker Trial-led blip, or will Sheree actually go on to win?
Current odds – 3.55
