For years and years we've all watched Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe go through the normal changes that occur when a boy turns into man, and now it seems as if the poor chap's hormones have finally kicked in.
At last night's premiere of new Harry Potter film Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, there was just one thing that Daniel Radcliffe wanted to talk about – girls. There he was, listening to girls chanting his name, spotting women in the crowd that he'd taken a shine to, describing what it was like kissing girls in the new movie. And there's nothing wrong with that – Daniel Radcliffe is young, single and loaded, so it's well within his rights to start expressing himself sexually whenever he wants. We'll admit that he probably went a little too far when he started humping the BBC arts correspondent on the leg like a dog, but the boy will learn in time.
When you play the world's most famous wizard in some of the world's most successful movies, the perks are endless. And, since Daniel Radcliffe gets to play Harry Potter in all of the Harry Potter movies, he also gets to be the lucky recipient of the perks. Thanks to Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe is the youngest actor with a waxwork in Madame Tussauds, the youngest non-Royal with a picture in the National Portrait Gallery and the richest teenager in Britain. But what use is a drawing, a clump of wax and a fortune of £23 million when you can't stagger around everywhere like a horny buffalo?
So that's more or less what Daniel Radcliffe decided to do at the premiere of his new movie Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix. With all the bravado of a boy who knows he's probably going to get killed off soon, Daniel Radcliffe worked the Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix crowd – mainly comprised of screaming schoolgirls – like a seasoned pro. Well, a seasoned pro or a potential rapist. One or the other. IOL reports:
Hundreds of fans, mainly young girls, crammed into London’s Leicester Square in torrential rain last night to chant “Harry, Harry, Harry” – drowning out the occasional crack of thunder. Some waved home made banners. One read: “Show us your wand, Harry baby.” Speaking about the female attention he attracts, 17-year-old Radcliffe said: “I can’t complain. It’s rather wonderful, really.”The film features his first on-screen clinch with Katie Leung, who plays Cho Chang. He said: “She’s a very good kisser.”
Not only that, but Daniel Radcliffe also took the time to tell almost everyone that he'd spotted a young redhead in the crowd that he was eager to set himself upon. Now coming from, say, Michael Douglas, this sort of talk would come across as sleazy and uncomfortable, but this is young, innocent Daniel Radcliffe we're talking about, and it's refreshing to see such an important time in a young man's life dealt with so honestly and openly. And anyone who tells you otherwise is just jealous – after all, it's a big deal, your first sexual awakening that isn't ordered upon you by an imaginary horse God who demands you to stab horses in the eyes in the nude.
