Eurovision betting odds time again! That exclamation mark represents enthusiasm!
Like many people, you’ve probably been wondering how the Latvian Eurovision entry Pirates Of The Sea are preparing for the competition. Well, now we know – they’ve made a website and they played at the interval of an ice hockey game. You’re welcome.
Here are the Eurovision betting odds for the Netherlands, with help from Paddy Power…
Netherlands (pop. 16,318,199; the European part of the Kingdom Of The Netherlands) Hind, Your Heart Belongs To Me
The Netherlands haven’t qualified for the Eurovision for three years now, which puts a lot of pressure onto Hind, this year’s entrant. So what’s her tactic? Why, singing a song from the perspective of an reanimated corpse on the hunt for the recipients of his body-part donations, of course. However, Your Heart Belongs To Me sounds very Eurovisiony – so Eurovisiony, in fact, that if you mixed up every other 2008 Eurovision song in a bucket, the results would be identical to Your Heart Belongs To Me. The brain-denting lyrics are there (At one point, the word ‘strong’ is rhymed with ‘wrong’, ‘longed’ and ‘on’) the tedious Ricky Martin-style backing track is there, the blandly pretty singer is there. Yes, this year the Netherlands have probably got it in the bag. If by ‘it’ we mean ‘failure to qualify for the Eurovision finals for a fourth successive year’. Current Eurovision betting odds – 150/1
Next week – Norway! But if that’s too long to wait – or you feel like making more money than you know what to do with – head right over to the Paddy Power Eurovision betting odds page to see the latest, and best, betting odds.

You hit it on the mark, it’s Eurovisiony, and reminiscent of Ricky Martin, if only she can manage to shake it around like Shakira she might have a fighting chance. It looks like a song from an Indian musical, where the man and woman are chasing each other, every now and then she peeks out from behind the tree so her lover can accidentally find her again and on goes the chase.
The young woman has talent, but she fails to tap into it with this piece. The only thing it left me feeling was a strong desire to stop listening to it, which is exactly what I did.
