When it was announced that Michael C. Hall was getting married to Jennifer Carpenter, it was met with a completely irrational ewwww, thanks wholly to the fact that the pair play siblings in the (really brilliant) American stabfest, Dexter.
Well, now you don’t have to be weirded out by two actors pretending to be siblings having it off with each other because they’re getting divorced.
Thank the stars eh? It is obvious that we all can’t divorce fiction from reality.
After nearly two years of marriage (it might not seem like a long time, but you have to remember that celebrity marriages don’t exist in the same timeframe as us plebs – celebrity marriage years are like fly years) Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are calling it a day.
That’ll be nice and awkward when they go back on set won’t it?
A joint statement from their representatives reads:
?Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.?
What? Like Liz Hurley, they decided to split up and didn’t tell us lot first? How fucking dare they? What kind of world do we live in when celebrities get their houses in order before informing the braying press first?!
This is an outrage!
Apparently, the split was amicable, thereby denying us further stories about people throwing stuff out of windows and hurling insults at each other like “YOUR WORK IS SO DERIVATIVE, DAHLING!” and “AND NO, YOU WILL NEVER PLAY THE DANE! I LIED! AS IF!”
In more seriousness news, Michael C. Hall completed treatment for Hodgkin?s lymphoma earlier this year and we sincerely wish him the best because he makes good television.

Oh well.. Life happens.
I too wish them both the best, especially Michael.
And great news is that Dexter will be continued for the sixth season, yay! Quality television is rare these days, so it’s wonderful.
