Dancing On Ice on Saturday raised a profoundly important question: are Take That the biggest attention whores in the universe? After popping up on X Factor last year they turned up again on Dancing On Ice, singing songs for Torvill and Dean.
Seriously, Take That are now on Saturday teatime ITV shows so often that anyone would think that their target audience was clueless gits who like to do nothing better than thoughtlessly clap along to radio jingles all the time. Take That's Dancing On Ice performance was either a huge success or an abject failure depending on your viewpoint. If you're Mark Owen, you can be proud that you managed to climb all the way up on top of the piano like a big boy; but if you're anyone else, the lack of horrific accidents ending up with Gary Barlow being speared through the neck with an icicle left their performance wanting slightly.
But enough of a bunch of mouldy old singers, who's going to win Dancing On Ice? Here are the Dancing On Ice betting odds for Claire Buckfield and Kyran Bracken, with help from Paddy Power…
Claire Buckfield – Apart from her dogged refusal to believe that using hair crimpers makes you look like a bit of a dick, Claire Buckfield has been a sensation on Dancing On Ice. Until she actually has to skate, that is. The slow, technical approach to dancing that Claire adopted last week – the one that put her in the skate-off -was thrown out the window for Saturday's Dancing On Ice in favour of a typically Buckfield-esque bonanza of flips, jumps, lifts, spinning lifts and freaky ankle-spins that instinctively make you gasp to Since U Been Gone. It worked, too – Claire Buckfield got a Dancing On Ice score of 27 for her effort, and once again we're left wondering what she'll manage to do next week. Fingers crossed that her dance partner won't have another incoherent diva-spaz like he did this week, though. Current Dancing On Ice betting odds – 9/2
Kyran Bracken – There's something about Kyran Bracken. If any of the other Dancing On Ice contestants tried to pull any of the smarmy stunts that he did during his Dancing On Ice performance to I'll Be There For You, we'd have grabbed our shotgun and hit the streets. Cheeky leap-frogs, cheeky hand-claps, a bewildering moment when Kryan ran off the ice rink and had to be cheekily summoned back by his partner – these are the sort of things that should infuriate us, but when Kyran Bracken does them we feel an involuntary moment of enjoyment. We don't know what's wrong with us really. Perhaps it's because Kyran Bracken seems to actually enjoy dressing up in spandex and zooming around the ice at a billion mph on his own. Whatever, his Dancing On Ice score of 27 means that he's now a firm favourite to win the series. Current Dancing On Ice betting odds – 1/2

I think Kyran should win Dancing On Ice. Claire Buckfield is good, but she called her partner ‘dude’ on Saturday. That sort of thing should be punishable by failure
