Wedding Crashers is still riding high in box offices around the world. People just can’t get enough of the crazy adventures of lovable rogues Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.
Everyone except the American government, that is. Congress is so offended by Wedding Crashers that they’ve rushed through a law banning people from copying it.
The American Congress is fine with people sneaking into a stranger’s weddings to cop off with bridesmaids. That’s still legal.
They were offended by the scene in which Vince Vaughn (DVDs) shows Owen
Wilson (DVDs) a pair of fake Purple Heart medals. Purple Hearts are only given
to American soldiers killed or injured in battle, and there have
recently been cases of impostors using fake military medals to get ahead in
business.
The man most offended was Republican congressman John Salazar, who
has introduced the Stolen Valour Act. “If any movie-goers take the
advice of the ‘Wedding Crashers’ and try
to use fake Purple Hearts to get girls, they may wind up picking up an
FBI agent instead,” Salazar said.
As well as the offending scene, the official Wedding Crashers website
also includes a pair of ‘print out and keep’ Purple Hearts as part of a
Crasher Kit. “To get one of these babies, some dudes have
to prove their physical, mental and spiritual strength with great feats
of bravery on the battlefield. All you need to do is press the button
below. Carrying a Purple Heart in your jacket guarantees you attention,
admiration and plenty of free booze," the text next to the medals read.
Following the passing of the Stolen Valour bill, the Purple Hearts have been removed from the website.
Even without the fake medals, the site is still one of the best
movie sites we’ve ever seen. The Crasher Kit still contains a wedding
speech generator, fake name tags, instructions on making balloon
animals, a feature where you can make a photo of yourself as a soldier,
mountaineer or baseball star, and a book of crasher rules.
And the Crash This Trailer feature is still online, where you can actually star in the Wedding Crashers trailer. Here’s one starring King Ethelred The Unready and Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Does anyone know what the “Sweetheart” track was at the end of the film? I think it was by an artist named Just, although it’s not on the soundtrack Album CD and I can’t find a trace of it.
Anyone know???
Thanks
