Time for today’s set of 2005 Christmas Number One betting odds – another chance for you to make money from the syrupy songs that idiots go crazy for at this time of year.
Christmas Number One Fact Of The Day: Now that Jimmy Osmond is free from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, he’d be wise to go around every single TV show possible singing Long Haired Lover From Liverpool – Christmas Number One in 1972 – before everyone forgets who he is again. Maybe the money he makes will keep him in creepy talking teddy bears.
Today we’ll be looking at the Christmas Number One betting odds of Westlife And Diana Ross, Robbie Williams, Il Divo, Franz Ferdinand and Gwen Stefani with help from SportingOdds.com…
Westlife & Diana Ross – We’ve given it a lot of thought, and we
genuinely can’t think of anything worse than hearing dreary old
Westlife and Diana ‘Don’t touch my tit’ Ross both trying to out-dull
each other during a sludgy rendition of When You Tell Me That You Love
Me all the time as the Christmas Number One. But that’s what’s being
released. The Westlife/Diana Ross combo is a little bit deadly, as
Westlife have an awful habit of reaching number one. However, the song
comes out on December 12, so it’ll need to sell millions of copies to
make it as Christmas Number One. Sadly, we wouldn’t put that past the
cheeky Irish gits. Current Christmas Number One odds – 6/1
Robbie Williams – On December 12, the definitely un-gay Robbie
Williams releases Advertising Space, the second single from Intensive
Care. It’s a typically big, sad-sounding ballad as you come to expect
of every other Robbie Williams single. But do you want an over-the-top
maudlin song about how sad it was when Elvis died as Christmas Number
one? We don’t, and – judging by the SportingOdds Christmas Number One
betting odds – you lot aren’t too sure, either. Current Christmas
Number One odds – 6/1
Il Divo – OK, we’ve found the one thing worse than Westlife and
Diana Ross – Il Divo. Four blokes shouting O Holy Night with a video
probably filmed on the steps of a pissing cathedral or something. Of
any of the 43 artists in the Christmas Number One betting odds list,
we’d like Il Divo to be Christmas Number One the least. They’re
terrible, aren’t they? Lucky for us, the single is already out, a fact
which greatly reduces their chances. Current Christmas Number One
betting odds – 50/1
Franz Ferdinand – Does anyone know where Franz Ferdinand put the
tunes for their last album? They seem to have misplaced somewhere along
the line. Anyway, they’re trying to get Walk Away to Christmas Number
One. As far as Franz Ferdinand singles go, it’s a bit disappointing.
But it’s also a bit acousticy, to it might remind someone somewhere of
Christmas a little bit. Perhaps. Walk Away is already out – so it
probably doesn’t stand a chance of reaching the Christmas Number One
spot. Current Christmas Number One odds – 80/1
Gwen Stefani – Can Gwen Stefani beat the odds to make the – actually
not very good – Luxurious single her first UK number one and 2005
Christmas Number One. We wouldn’t have thought so, would you? Current
Christmas Number One odds – 80/1
You lucky people: we’ll be looking at the betting odds of different
Christmas Number One singles every day between now and Christmas.
That’s plenty of time for you to check out the amazingly comprehensive
Christmas Number One betting market over at the Specials section of
SportingOdds.com. And get betting – it’s the only way to stop you
becoming completely sick of the bloody songs.

Il Divo “terrible”????? Have you totally gone MAD?? If that’s what you really think then you are in the wrong business……you might as well hang up your hat right now as you are certainly no judge of beautiful music. And you’re certainly no judge of what people love.
Lois says
Your comment about the Cathedral in your Il Divo comment was totally out of line. God is listening!!
Christine Holder says
I find your comments about Il Divo absolutely disgusting. Try listening to their music before making stupid remarks. Also your language to describe a cathedral is totally uncalled for. I realise everyone has different tastes in music but there is no need to be abusive about them. They have millions of fans of all ages who love their music so you must be one of the minority.
brian says
your comments on diana ross and westlife are nothing less than negative energy. and it will come back to you.
sarah says
i wonder why westlife always get to number one!!! because they are the best band since the beatles and they have proved it by getting record of the year for the fourth time so you try and tell me thier not any good!!!!! and i hope that westlife do get to number one because to me they are better than any band i have ever heard
mona says
Il Divo shouting – which planet are you from? I thought reviews were meant to be constructive. Do you have an inferiority complex that neccitate degrading everything good? Get a life or more like get out of this business as you only appear to be able to spew negative comments. You sad person.
luke says
what about the jcb song :)
Anna says
Can’t believe the comments about Il Divo! they are probably some of the most talented singers around at the moment. How can Il divo be classed as shouting it’s meant to have an operatic feel! And at least the song has a good reason behind it, beings as we are celebrating Jesus’s birthday, a song should actually be about him.
mimi says
I think your comment on Il Divo is absolutely subjective, without any justification or clarification. That’s just your personal opinion. You have no good taste on beautiful music.
erwin says
“You have no good taste on beautiful music” = A Subjective Comment.
I think this site has subjective written all over it. Not that there’s anything much wrong with that.
And besides, ALL journalism is subjective.
PS – Is IL DIVO the same as G4?
Garfie says
Shame its going to be the x factor winner ,but then everyone in the music industry knew that
ps Thanks Ladbrooks for the £3k lol
pps Who the hell is Il Divo

I can’t even comment on the likliehood of crazy frog as xmas #1. Tonight I am going to see The Pogues at Brixton Academy and have no doubt in my heart as to which song should hold the top position. Anybody else agree that a song with actual emotion (oh horror) such as Fairytale of New York deserves the spot? Regardless, Happy Christmas to all.
clia rose says
Everyone got different opinions and how sad that you judge and become abusive without no understanding at all. Try listening to ‘IL Divo’s music before making terrible comments about them and their music. Give it a go and if you still don’t like their music than obviously you dont have the right ears for it. Cheers!
Maria says
Your comments about Il Divo are offensive.
Your taste is up your archie as they say.
monica says
