Bob Dylan Biopic Attracts Every Star In Hollywood

… or damn near anyway.
hecklerspray has found itself in a somewhat unusual emotional position of late. We believe you earth-dwellers refer to it as ‘looking forward to something.’
See, when the news first broke that a Bob Dylan (DVDs/CDs/books) life-movie was in the pipeline, we understandly had a brief spell of blood curdling. God only knows … the amazing story of one of America’s greatest poets (don’t argue) could have been turned into an awful pile of misty-eyed Oscar-polishing poo-poo. You know … like Ray.
Then we heard that Far From Heaven director Todd Haynes (DVDs ) was attached. And then we heard that Cate Blanchett (DVDs), Colin Farrell (DVDs ), Adrien Brody (DVDs), Richard Gere (DVDs) and Julianne Moore (DVDs) are all considering scribbling down their John Hancocks …
Rumour has it that the project will centre on seven different stages of the life of Mr. Dylan, each possibly played by a different actor. The possibilities are mouth-watering to say the least, as anyone who has read the first volume of Dylan’s wonderful Chronicles will attest. The chance to see the recreatead backstory of Blood On The Tracks or Bringing It All Back Home acted out by A-list talent may well be the cinematic equivalent of a field of Prozac.
Oh … providing they gloss over that Wiggle, Wiggle song. Because - let’s be honest, Bob - that was just a teeny bit rubbish.

I would very much like to see the movie. Why can’t Bob Dylan himself star in the movie?

I can’t wait either - when’s the new volume of his autobiography due out?
