Arrested Development To Be Made Into Movie, God May Produce

Digg this!

Arrested Development Hurowitz Bateman Tambor MovieSometimes the windows of heaven open, and gnawed pieces of cherub fall out and clutter up the ground below it. It's because a gospel adhering T-Rex weaseled his way past the pearly gates, but sometimes it still gets hungry.

It's his nature, after all.

But once in a while when that window opens, God's finger comes through to zap us all with something super cool. We assume the latter just happened, because an Arrested Development movie is in the works.

So says Bateman. So says Tambor.

Not so long ago the world lost its better judgement and refused to watch Arrested Development, the greatest weekly recurring half hour any of us have ever known. Then it languished on Fox's schedule in agony. First four million people tuned in, then three million did. Our judge-appointed therapist says that's where we started our backward slide. She also said we should write letters of apology to all our Grannie's friends, but we're just not there yet.

AD got cancelled after three brilliant semi-seasons – and then all went dark. But now there's gonna be a movie so we're all OK. Jason Bateman recently said:

"I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started. Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed."

Bateman's not alone in his statements here – Jeffery Tambor chimed in too:

“In terms of Arrested Development, I think I have good news – I think we’re going to make a movie. I talked to Ron Howard the other day, and he sort of hinted around that there’s a real push to get a movie made – of course, after the strike.”

While Ron Howard said:

"I've never killed anybody – why would I start with you? Stop looking at me."

Howard didn't say that. Also God's not producing the feature.
