If you grew up in North American during the late-80s and early-90s, you probably remember the terrible home décor trend with the colours dusty rose and forest green. Seriously, you could walk into any home during this period of time and find at least one room that was dictated by these colours.
For me, it was two: the living room and the bathroom. My mom had a floral couch with dusty rose flowers that had forest green leaves, our matching lamps were dusty rose, and the carpet was dusty rose. In the bathroom, we had a shower curtain that matched the couch for some goddamn reason, and a forest green toilet seat cover and bathroom floor mat. Why is ANY of this relevant? Two words: Adam Levine.
While, for me and most adults that came of age during this time, dusty rose was merely the god awful colour our parents chose for living room walls, carpets, or ceramic lamps, Adam Levine and his supermodel wife, Behati Prinsloo, decided it would be the perfect name for their new baby girl.
Yep, they named her Dusty Rose Levine.
I mean, sure, they could just really love the singer Dusty Springfield and maybe their favorite Golden Girl is Rose, and that would be fair, but naming your baby girl after one of the ugliest living room colours of all time? That is NOT fair.
For all you kids born after 1995 who were fortunate enough to have parents that could afford to update their home décor after you were born, here is what I mean when I talk about dusty rose, and why it’s a cruel thing to name a child:
Gross.
Mean.
Awful.
So tragic.
Unless Adam and Behati conceived their daughter on a dusty rose, crushed velvet couch in their friends grandma’s wreck room, I cannot possibly understand why they would choose to name their poor child after this atrocious colour from one of the ugliest periods in home décor history. It’s bad enough the poor child has to have Adam Levine as their father, but this name just seems unnecessarily cruel.
And before you pull your shit about how I diss celebrities I don’t even know anything about, I actually DID meet Adam Levine when I was 19 and he was very rude, so there. HA.

Dusty Rose is a beautiful name and for that matter, a lovely color!! Who do you think you are to judge anyone?! Adam is not a rude person. Maybe it was the vibes you send out being returned to you!!
