These child stars just grow up so quickly, don't they? It seems like only yesterday that Aaron Carter was that insanely annoying Crazy Little Party Girl brat but, my, how fast our little Aaron Carter turned into a real adult.
The signs are there for everyone to see – not only does Aaron Carter have one of those poncey semi-beards on his chin these days, but he's also gone through the rite of passage that every boy goes through at one point or another, the gormlessly premature public proposal and subsequent engagement to a woman who takes her clothes off for a living and who has also probably had sex with your older brother. Oh come one, don't pretend that you haven't done it either.
Aaron Carter has seen a lot in his 18 years on this Earth. For instance, Aaron Carter has witnessed the effects that a short-lived career as The Most Annoying Child On The Planet can have on a boy, plus he saw the half-baked resurrection of The Backstreet Boys close up, plus he's tried to divorce his own Mum, plus he's probably seen Lindsay Lohan's mimsy – but, hey, who hasn't? And this wealth of life experiences means that Aaron Carter knows more now than you ever will in your hopelessly non-famous lives.
And what have these life experiences taught Aaron Carter? Well, they seem to have taught him that getting engaged to a Playmate that's already had it away with your brother is a very smart and long-term thing to do – Aaron Carer has proposed to Kari Ann Peniche, a woman who was once named Miss Teen America before she lost her title when she whipped off her clothes for Playboy. Teen People reports:
Carter, 18, popped the question to Peniche (who previously dated Aaron's brother Nick) on Saturday in Las Vegas while they were onstage in front of 200 people during the Playboy Comedy Tour at the Palms Casino Resort.
And Kari Ann Peniche handled Arron Carter's proposal splendidly – she said yes, before gushing to the magazine:
"I don't remember it happening. It was such a blur. I had no idea he was going to do this, but I'm glad he did… I'm very excited about it. Aaron is the most genuine person I know. He's kind, loving, and I love him so much."
Leaving aside the fact that Peniche's comment about Aaron Carter being genuine probably says more about her line of work than her fiance, we're right to be pessimistic about Aaron Carter's engagement to Kari Ann Peniche aren't we? As if the age thing and the complicated family history thing wasn't enough, it's also been announced that Aaron Carter is about to star in his own reality TV show, House Of Carters.
Aaron, did you learn nothing from Jessica and Nick, Dave and Carmen or, um, the Blink 182 bloke and whoever his wife was?
