In case you didn’t already know it, Sharon Stone is a fucking legend. While normally I’d be referring to her whole leg crossing scene in Basic Instinct, right now I’m referring to her beyond perfect response to being asked during an interview if she’d ever been sexually harassed or made uncomfortable during her time in showbiz.
Not to give away too many blog spoilers, but Sharon’s reaction can be seen in the picture above.
During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning to promote some new HBO show she’s got coming out, Sharon was asked about this whole sexual misconduct thing that’s become all the rage in Hollywood these days. “Have you ever been raped?” is the new “Who are you wearing?”
When the interviewer, who I feel it’s a given to say was a dude, asked Sharon if she’d ever experienced any harassment or inappropriate sexual stuff during her career, Sharon gave the most genuine laugh I have ever seen an actress give during an interview.
I mean, you really have to see it for yourselves:
When the interviewer seems unsure of how to interpret her laugh, Sharon follows up with an answer that could also just have been summed up with a “Duh”:
I’ve been in this business for 40 years. Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago? Looking like I look, from nowhere Pennsylvania? I didn’t come here with any protection. I’ve seen it all.
Sharon’s response is so beautiful and perfect and I really hope that every woman on the face of the planet from here on out responds with that exact laugh if any man has the audacity to ask her if she’s ever been sexually harassed. Like, yes I have, bitch. Any other dumbass, obvious question you’d like to have answered today? The fuck.

She’s known for all these years, and never said anything
Not until it is politically expedient and helpful to her fading career.
