Forget the hatches or the cloud monster or the big statue of a foot; the big question about Lost is this: why don't any of the cast of Lost seem to be able to drive a car properly?
Pretty much everyone who's been involved in any small way with Lost has at one point or another got in trouble with police over their driving, and the latest Lost star to get in trouble for traffic violations is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Mr Eko. Here at hecklerspray we've been playing an office game of Lost Cast Arrest Bingo and – now that Mr Eko has been arrested – we only need the polar bear from the first few episodes that everyone's forgotten about to get busted for arson and that first prize is as good as ours.
It would really take a lot for the off-screen antics of the Lost cast to eclipse the utter confusion that Lost viewers experience every week, but you have to hand it to the cast of Lost for doing their best to steal the limelight away from the big flashing smoke and creepy old Mr Hanso. Although some of the cast's attempts at becoming bigger than the show have been frankly rubbish – like getting married or being quite handsome – there's always the old fallback of driving like a moron to, er, fall back on.
Most famously Michelle Rodriguez took time out from shooting Lost to get banged up for drink-driving and ask the arresting police officer to shoot her in the head, while fellow Lost star Cynthia Watros was also arrested for drink-driving, but escaped with a 90-day driving ban. Meanwhile, six other Lost regulars have picked up all kinds of fines for not really driving properly. And now Mr Eko – Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje – is getting in on the act too, as E! Online reports:
The 39-year-old Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who also starred in Get Rich or Die Tryin', was picked up at 2:25 a.m. for disobeying a cop and driving without a license, after which he spent six hours in jail before posting $500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in district court Sept. 26.
Disobeying a cop? Frankly we're stunned that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje left it there – we can remember the episode of Lost where he slashed open two bloke's throats with a knife in one swing all too well. Seriously, if we were cops we'd let Mr Eko drive over our shed and we wouldn't do anything about it.
However, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje shouldn't be worried by what the court's punishment is – instead he should be bricking it about the vengeful nature of the Lost producers. Look what happened when Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros went to court – Michael burst into the hatch and shot them both dead. Let's see if this arrest affects Mr Eko's time on the Lost island – although if he dies after a polar bear sets him on fire we'll be laughing.
