In life there nothing is certain except for taxes, death and Louis Walsh throwing an almighty strop and leaving X Factor midway through the series before returning with his tail in between his legs.
Some people might say that say that Louis Walsh leaving X Factor last year was a messy little attempt to bring a dramatic aspect to an otherwise dull reality show. Other people would say that it was the single most entertaining piece of television of last year. But those people are the sort of people who say "no, I can't come out this Saturday evening, X Factor is on." And they probably find Kate Thornton attractive. In short, they are weird. But could Louis Walsh leave X Factor again this year, and for good?
Here are the X Factor betting odds for Louis Walsh to quit the show as a judge, before the Final night, & not return…
Louis Walsh to quit the show as a judge, before the Final night, & not return – Last year's X Factor was characterised not by Shayne Ward, Chico or the terrifying way in which The Conway Sisters refused to die, but by all the little fights that judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh kept having during the shows. Terrible, dull little spats which were either the height of unprofessionalism of lazily-scripted ways to keep the audience watching and voting for whatever cloth-eared dipshits were still on the show. The low point of this came when Sharon Osbourne flung a glass of water into Louis Walsh's face, prompting him to leave X Factor for, oh, about five or six minutes. How likely is it for Louis Walsh to throw a similar wobbly this year, and never return to X Factor? Hardly – without X Factor, Louis Walsh will go back to just being the man who invented Westlife, and nobody wants to be famous for just that, do they? Current X Factor betting odds – 8/1
Tomorrow: Sharon Osbourne go slappy slap all over Simon Cowell's face?
