Who the bloody hell are The Ripps? Don't worry, you're not the first to ask. If you can imagine the sons of a pair of exiled Chilean political activists thrashing through stylishly peppy new-wave pop with an English girl banging away on drums, you're close.
According to the piece of paper in front of us, The Ripps' debut album Long Live The Ripps is coming out on March 19. That's all well and good, but what's it going to jolly well sound like? If the new single by The Ripps – Loco – is anything to go by it'll be one of the funnest listening experiences for ages. Loco by The Ripps is a fat fast sloppy grin of a tune plastered all over the faces of prime-era Blur, The Buzzcocks and The Pixies – it's over in a heartbeat and will leave you dying to hear more. If you like that kind of thing, of course. Which we resoundingly do. But, hey, don't take our word for it – click the link below and watch The Ripps' Loco video in all its knee-slidingly infant 1978 glory.
