Ever wonder why Salvador Dali was a nut?
Because his friends were the Spanish equivalent of Public Enemy. This film retells the early life of the Spanish surrealist and his dabbles with decadence, philosophy and the avant-garde. Arriving at the university of Madrid in 1922, Dali (Robert Pattinson) falls in with Federico Garc?a Lorca (Javier Beltr?n) and Luis Bu?uel (Matthew McNulty), forming the city’s weirdest artistic coven in history.
Meanwhile, the ambitious General Franco vies for control of the country, civil war and revolution are imminent. They part ways and Luis heads for Paris while the ever closer Mr. Dali and his friend Federico spend a holiday in the seaside town of Cadaqu?s, where they discover that their bond of friendship goes further than they ever dreamed.
Look here for a tale of two artists on a quest for sexual and artistic freedom. Macho types should probably steer clear.
