If there's one word that describes Kathryn Williams, it's 'loveliness' – Pure, delicate, autumnal loveliness. And that loveliness is all captured on Hollow, the mesmerising new single by Kathryn Williams from her forthcoming Leave To Remain album.
Hollow by Kathryn Williams almost perfectly nails the wistful feeling you get at the end of summer – the sort of sadness that comes with the earlier sunsets combined with the thrill of knowing that it won't be long until your first game of conkers. Hollow is the sort of stuff you expect from Kathryn Williams these days – all spare, shuffling instrumentation and Kathryn's trademark crystal voice combining to create a feeling of incredible intimacy. Then the lyrics sink in and you start to realise that Hollow might be about Kathryn Williams doing it with her boyfriend, and it loses a bit of its charm. That's not to say, though, that Hollow by Kathryn is any less lovely than you'd want it to be.
