Usually when we’re told that a band sounds like Radiohead we run a mile, because it usually means that they sound like Athlete.

But curiosity got the better of us when we caught wind of Animal Kingdom, and we’re pretty glad it did. We don’t know very much about them but, based on their single Chalk Stars, Animal Kingdom might just be worth keeping your eyes peeled for. It’s all shimmering melancholy and yearning vocals, and we’d be more inclined to compare it to something like Sigur Ros or Amiina than Radiohead.
