Tommy Lee bleeds rock and roll.
There’s his rock and roll career, which has involved punching people just as much as playing a musical instrument. There’s his rock and roll wedding night – all captured lovingly on digitised video for the entire world to download.
And now he can add his brand new rock and roll injury to the list.
A stage is a dangerous place to be during a rock concert. There are
wires that can be tripped over, microphones that can electrocute you,
flying bottles of piss that can strike you right on the noggin. But
none of these potential hazards are rock enough for Tommy Lee (CDs). If he’s
going to knacker himself, then by God, he’s going to it in style.
It all happened during a Motley Crue concert in Casper, Wyoming on
Wednesday. Lee was apparently swinging between several drum kits on a
wire 30 feet in the air when he was burned by sparks from a roman
candle-style pyrotechnic display.
Despite his face and arms being covered in burns, Tommy Lee just
couldn’t stop the rock, choosing to play another song. But Motley Crue
singer Vince Neil went onstage to tell the crowd they would not be
performing an encore because:
"He didn’t look good while the paramedics were treating him backstage, so we chose to err on the side of caution and send him to the hospital."
