A few days ago, George Takei (Star Trek’s helmsman Sulu) announced he was gay, to the unheard cheers of men with very thick glasses and a tendency for floral arrangements everywhere. 68-year old Takei says this about letting his secret out now:
"The world has changed from when I was a young teen feeling ashamed for being gay".
To which William Shatner might have thought – but definitely never ever gasped to anyone anywhere:
"Why the devil did I take down that urinal divider?"
So George Takai – Sulu out of Star Trek (DVDs) – is gay. But that’s not all. In loosely related news, scientists have announced the discovery of two new moons orbiting Pluto, the outermost "maybe a planet, maybe not a planet" in our solar system.
"Loosely related" you say? "How is that related" you say ? "Let us tell you in crude and immature ways" we say.
1) -The newly discovered balls of Pluto (i.e. moons) orbit in space, and there are also gravitational monsters called black holes in space.
-Sulu’s balls often orbit a different kind of black hole, one that also seems to have some sort of intense gravitational pull.
2) -Pluto has no atmosphere, showing the planet to be bumpy and barren.
-Sulu’s Star Trek pants often showed crotch bumps.
3) -Pluto is so far from the sun that it’s icy and freezing.
-Sulu had ice cubes in his pockets when Kirk had the shirtless sweaty trident fight in season three.
See? We told you it was immature.
