For most of the stars of Lost, their time spent in Hawaii has been an upsetting rollercoaster of being arrested for driving while blasted on booze, being held up at gunpoint in bed and having to listen to that guy scream "WALT!" every 108 minutes.
But one Lost star has bucked the trend for misery. Emilie de Ravin – the Australian woman from Lost with the devil baby and the unexplainable attraction to that weird Oasis hobbit – got married in Melbourne ten days ago. It's thought that none of Emilie's Lost castmates attended the wedding, which was conducted by that freaky black smoke monster with all the faces in it.
If real life was an episode of Lost, then most of the events that have happened to the cast would have taken place right before the commercials – you know, the big dramatic highlight that comes after Michael has staggered about for quarter of an hour shouting "WALT!" all the time – like when Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested for drink driving, or when Josh Holloway got held up at gunpoint.
But this latest Lost news is more like the last five minutes of every third episode – after all the action and flashbacks have taken place and there's a happy montage of that Korean man fishing and that black woman smiling at her husband – since Emilie de Ravin got married in a happy, intimate ceremony in Melbourne last week.
People magazine reports that Emilie de Ravin got married to her actor boyfriend Josh Janowicz in a tiny, low-key ceremony attended by no famous people at all. And, unlike Nicole Kidman's recent Australian wedding, Josh Janowicz didn't manage to shoehorn a performance of his new single into the ceremony. According to People, Emilie de Ravin says:
"I'd never have a large wedding. That's not the kind of person either of us is. We're both quite low-key people."
Obviously, now that the real-life version of the happy end-of-episode montage has taken place in the form of Emilie de Ravin's wedding, we can now expect a real-life version of the 'next on Lost' trailer that will make Emilie's honeymoon look really exciting, even though when you come to watch the whole thing it'll be the same old confusing, slightly slow mumbo jumbo that's been peddled for the last couple of years. Or something.
