It’s been interesting to see the differing ways that Kid Rock and Scott Stapp have reacted to the release of their sex tape: Rock has quietly got it blocked, while Stapp has bitched and whined like a girl.
Scott Stapp has the theory that the sex tape was released in an attempt to undermine him and destroy his chances of having a successful solo career. We’d have thought his lack of any decent songs at all would have done that much, but there you go.
We’re fairly sure that there have been more exciting sex tapes made than that of Kid Rock and Scott Stapp getting it on with four female fans,
and probably more incriminating. But none have garnered such a
hilarious reaction. The sex tape apparently shows 45 minutes of hot
Scott Stapp (CDs)/ Kid Rock/ four unknown girl action, and is so good that
David Joseph from Red Light District – the company trying top release
the tape – has publicly lamented:
"I wish I was a rock star, I tell you. I’m in the wrong business."
We may never see the Scott Stapp/ Kid Rock sex tape, as Rock has gained a temporary injunction blocking its release,
but that hasn’t stopped Stapp bleating and moaning about it like the
most paranoid little lamb on the farm. In an interview on AP radio,
Scott Stapp said:
"Obviously someone wants to hurt me and doesn’t want me to be successful in my solo career… I should have burned that tape."
Bless
him. Scott Stapp also claims that the 1999 tape was stolen from him, a
claim that Red Light District denies. The sex tape is just the latest
bump on an increasingly odd road that Stapp seems to be travelling
down, in the past few months he’s also punched members of boyband 311 and been arrested for being drunk in an airport. Stapp says he’s aware that it’s all happened at once:
"You don’t want to say it’s laughable, but it’s just like, my God,
there’s so much stuff. Somebody does not like you and
somebody wants you to fail."
Well,
seeing as how it was Scott Stapp that punched 311, Scott Stapp that was abusively
drunk in public and Scott Stapp that let people film him dicking some fans,
maybe – just maybe – that somebody is you, Scott.
