When Ms Dynamite speaks about global poverty, people listen. When Ms Dynamite releases an album, nobody listens. But when Ms Dynamite slaps a policewoman, she gets community service.
In a court appearance yesterday, rapper Ms Dynamite was sentenced to 60 hours of community service and was ordered to pay £750 to the policewoman who she slapped in a disturbance earlier in the month.

"using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour within the
sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress".
As he decided that a jail sentence would not be in order, District
Judge Timothy Workman told Ms Dynamite:
"The
injury sustained by that one blow were obviously more considerable than
first thought. I accept that it was one blow and in the circumstances bearing
in mind your good character, you have never been in court before, you
are entitled to a discount on sentence."
It’s unclear what form Ms Dynamite’s community service will take, or when it will take place. Just so long as it doesn’t involve singing…
