When Nicole Richie gets sad, she forgets to eat – that's why she gets skinny. And right now we'd imagine that Nicole Richie's house is full of uneaten food.

You see, Nicole Richie and DJ AM – that's Adam Goldstein for people who don't like to refer to people by stupid DJ names – are now officially off. Off? We didn't even know they were on again…

Nicole Richie is famous for a few things – schlepping around the homes of weird American families breaking stuff in The Simple Life with Paris Hilton, being so skinny that she goes transparent if she stands between you and a bright light and… OK, so those are the only two things that Nicole Richie is famous for. But she's split up with her DJ boyfriend, and that's sort of sad, isn't it?

You may remember DJ AM – Adam Goldstein – from his stint as Nicole Richie's fiance last year. But Nicole Richie and Adam Goldstein split up in December, which made Nicole Richie stop eating, get all skinny and stoop to propositioning 11-year-old boys in their front gardens.

But then, in the last few months, Nicole Richie and Adam Goldstein were seen out and about together, and Nicole Richie confirmed that they were a couple again in the June edition of Vanity Fair magazine. But it hasn't lasted, and the couple have put out a statement via Richie's publicist Cindy Guagenti saying:

“We are confirming that we have amicably separated.”

That's it. No more details about the Nicole Richie/Adam Goldstein split have been given, but it's not as if anyone actually cares enough to want to know any more details, is it?
