You’d think that after everything he’s been through on TV – like aeroplane crashes, having bits of bamboo rammed under his fingernails, and being a bit nasty to a doctor – nobody would want to mess with Josh Holloway – Saywer in Lost. After all, wasn’t it him that shot that sort of polar bear thing?
But scowling on TV all the time hasn’t stopped him from being robbed at gunpoint in Hawaii.
According to reports, Josh Holloway and his wife Yessica were woken in
their bed by an armed intruder on Wednesday night. The intruder
threatened the couple before making off with cash, credit cards and
Holloway’s Mercedes, which was later found abandoned.
Honolulu police aren’t releasing much information about the robbery,
but the suspect is thought to be a short skinny man with a gun,
unsurprisingly. Holloway said in a statement:
"My family and I are fine and appreciate everyone’s
concerns and good thoughts. We are very grateful for the help of the
Honolulu Police Department and the support of the local community."
Maggie Grace, Holloway’s Lost co-star, has so far given the best report
of the incident. Even though she was in New York at the time and
doesn’t really know what’s going on:
"I’ve
been running around New York so I hadn’t checked my voicemail in a
while. I’ve since talked to quite a few people. Everybody’s okay, thank
God. They’re really important people to me and it’s really scary that
they had to go through that. Even though they’re okay, they just
finished their house and Josh
has worked really hard his whole life to buy his first house and a car
as a gift for his wife. And now to kind of have that sense of safety
sort of shattered."
It’s thought that the intruder wasn’t aware of Josh Holloway’s status
as a member of the Lost cast. If he was, chances are that he’d still be
there, going "The island’s got something to do with the boy, isn’t it? Isn’t it?"
