A stalker can be dangerous. Countless stars have encountered them either in court or out, from boring CNN hosts to the action packed likes of Mel ‘I’m deeply religious now’ Gibson.
The court-ordered restrainer can be a God send in such cases. That’s why celebs get them, often three times a week. But what happens when a non-state declared crazy lady takes one out on the superstar?
Late night talk show host David Letterman has had a restraining
order placed on him by New Mexican resident Colleen Nestler, for
sending his love messages over the boob tube using a carefully crafted
secret code. The said code includes such vocabulary as gestures, eye
expressions, specific words, and song selection. One alleged code word
for Nestler was "Oprah". Letterman had once said the words "Marry me
Oprah," as a sly bit of comedy, but Nestler knew what it really meant.
It meant that Dave’s lust and affection was getting way out of hand.
As a result of Letterman’s magically tormenting her, Ms. Nestler has
suffered. Her excruciating pain takes the form of "mental cruelty",
"sleep deprivation", and bankruptcy. If her financial situation was so
dire, she should have mental telepathed him a request for hard cash,
gift certificates or food stamps. There’s no shame in food stamps.
Colleen "Not In This Lifetime, Letterman" Nestler was granted a
temporary restraining order from a Santa Fe District Judge. A Leno
fan, no doubt. Nestler’s specific requests were that he stay at least
three yards away in any direction, and that he "release me from his
mental harassment and hammering."
Letterman’s lawyers are pushing for the madness to end, as it’s all
super-stupid. A court hearing is set for January 12th to determine if
a permanent restraining order will be granted.
If restrainers are so easy to come by, could someone get one on
hecklerspray‘s mother-in law? She keeps looking at us with want in
her eyes. It’s in one of her eyes anyway, the other’s covered in a
brown beaver skin patch.
