It's hard to imagine that anyone in their right mind would want to read a book about Jennifer Lopez, but that isn't stopping J-Lo from suing one of her many ex-husbands to stop him publishing a tell-all tome about her.
Yesterday, Jennifer Lopez filed a lawsuit against Ojani Noa after reading that he is punting a saucy book proposal around, which apparently spills all kinds of secrets about her. We've not read the Noa proposal, but we'd imagine that it includes drastic revelations that Jennifer Lopez isn't still Jenny from the block and that – yes – you certainly should be fooled by the rocks that she got. Or something.
Jennifer Lopez has many things she understandably wants to keep quiet – her ongoing feud with Heather Mills McCartney over fur use in her Sweetface clothing line. Or the way she thinks writing a book about how hard being a celebrity is will endear her to the public. Or any reviews for any films she has ever, ever, made.
But, judging by the lawsuit that she filed against ex-husband Ojani Noa yesterday, Jennifer Lopez also wants to put the dampener on aspects of her private live. Noa has apparently written a 12-chapter, tell-all manuscript about Jennifer Lopez, and given it the buttock-clenchingly bad title The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrayal Of A Serial Thriller. The book is allegedly full of tales of how Jennifer Lopez cheated on Noa with one of her Anaconda co-stars and how she had an affair with current husband Marc Anthony while he was still married to his first wife.
None of which will do Jennifer Lopez's reputation as a big-arsed, out-of-touch diva any good, we're sure. However, the reason that Jennifer Lopez is suing Ojani Noa is because he apparently contacted her and demanded $5 million from her in order to stop the book from ever seeing the light of day. And also, the book would break a settlement agreement made between Lopez and Noa in October that he would never be able to profit from telling stories about the private life of Jennifer Lopez.
What we want to know, though, is this: if Ojani is right about his claims that Jennifer Lopez was cheating on him with a member of the Anaconda cast – who was it? Ice Cube? Eric Stoltz? Owen Wilson? Or Frank Welker, who did the voice for the big snake? We may never know. But we can probably live with that.
