I have been OBSESSED with the movie “The Room” for 7 or 8 years now. Why, you ask? To put it bluntly, it is hands down the most laughably bad film of all fucking time. I mean, it is INFAMOUSLY bad. So infamously bad, a really great film got made about just how bad it was. And, of course, James Franco is behind all this.
While “The Room” is known as one of the most laughably bad movies of all time and actually has a cult-following based solely on how fucking bad it is, it’s actually gone mainstream this year thanks to James Franco’s film “The Disaster Artist.”
Along with his super hot brother, Dave, and his BFF Seth Rogan, James has made a film where he plays Tommy Wiseau, the writer, director, and star of “The Room”.
The film explores the making of arguably the world’s worst film and it’s super bizarre star. And while “The Room” is just absolutely too horrendous to mentally comprehend, “The Disaster Artist” has become critically acclaimed, scoring a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and being nominated for numerous Golden Globe AND Screen Actor’s Guild Awards! That’s right, a movie about the making of the shittiest cult film of all-time is actually a critically acclaimed, award-nominated film!
James Franco is like the most bizarre celebrity on the go right now, and sometimes I don’t know if he’s a total douche or a total genius, but I think making this movie was a brilliant and hilarious plan on his part, but more importantly, it’s brought the INCREDIBLY shitty movie “The Room” to the mainstream! Finally, maybe more people will watch this awful awful film so I can go back to making jokes about it but now maybe people will get what I’m saying!
Seriously, it’s a really bad fucking movie. And I saw “Dude, where’s my car?” in theatres three times.
