One of the biggest songs of the year for 16 year old teenage boys to play for their girlfriend of 3 weeks to try and get laid is Jason Derulo’s “Marry Me.”? It is a sweet, romantic track letting your girl know to keep holding on, because while he is not quite ready yet to commit for life, it will happen.? Eventually. He swears.? In falsetto, so you know it’s legit.?
Derulo made no secret about the fact that he wrote the song for his girlfriend of a few years, Jordin Sparks.? Which makes it doubly awkward that the two have now broken up.
Jason Derulo is like the new Ne-Yo, but with infinitely better abs.?? While known for extremely classy numbers such as “Wiggle” and “Talk Dirty,”? Jason also has a soft, sensitive side.?? Not one for banging all the groupies he can, Derulo instead has been in a committed relationship with American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, for over 3 years now.? They made a cute, albeit boring, couple.
Earlier this year, he released a ballad he wrote for Sparks entitled “Marry Me” which was basically his way of telling Jordin to just hold tight, keep calm, and eventually he’d put a ring on it.? It was sort of sweet but sort of confusing because in the song the whole reason for not proposing to his girl yet was because he was still broke as shit.
“And you know one of these days when I get my money right
Buy you everything and show you all the finer things in life”
Yea.? Considering Derulo is pretty effing rich, I am not sure if I was Jordin I’d have been totally onboard with his excuses.? And it seems she wasn’t, because the two have now broken up allegedly because Sparks would not back down on getting?a diamond on her finger.?? Derulo did an interview with Ryan Seacrest, where he claimed he wasn’t going to talk about his personal life, but then did just that.
“I'm not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand.
I'm seeing all kind of? stories about somebody getting pregnant, infidelity, things like me calling it off because of me being too busy and because of my newfound success.”What happened ? in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons. Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad bad times, it's time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy.”
Well looks life someone just threw his business in the street and his ex under a bus.
When asked by Seacrest if the two were trying to pull the whole, “We may not be together, but we’re still best of friends” shtick that seems popular with celebrities, Derulo responded with a resounding, “Aww, hell nah.”
“I wouldn't say good terms, I'll be lying if I said that, but it's not a bad situation.”
He then also pretty called dating Sparks a chore that he felt obligated to do, sort of like scrubbing toilets after a particularly intense night of tequila and making love tot he porcelain king. ?At some point, you just have to say to yourself, “Is the Jose Cuervo worth it, anymore?”? And I guess for Derulo, it wasn’t.
