After years and years and years of proclaiming himself a forever bachelor, George Clooney baffled the entire world back in 2014 when he decided to marry human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. I’m pretty sure some people won some pretty pricey bets for that one.
However, given what he’s said over the years and the fact that he’s pushing 60 (which really means nothing to wealthy men, anyway), I think we all assumed he’d never have kids, right? Well, we’re all wrong again.
It was confirmed on Thursday (I know, I know, I’m late) that Amal and George are pulling a Beyoncé and Jay Z and having not one, but TWO babies! Yep, Amal is pregnant with twins, meaning not only is this woman an incredible human rights lawyer, she’s also a goddamn miracle worker.
George Clooney spent like 20 years of his career saying that he’d never get married and that the only way he’d have kids is if he adopted like two adults, now here he is at almost 56, happily married and expecting twins!
Amal, 39, is due in June, and various media outlets are reporting that they’re having fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. Allegedly Beyoncé is having a boy and a girl as well, and this really got me wondering if people just have regular twins anymore? Doesn’t it seem like celebs (and people I know, come to think of it) only have fraternal twins. Like even when they’re the same gender they’re not identical twins, you know?
In my entire life, I’ve met or heard of like a million and one sets of fraternal twins, but only personally know one set of identical (I dated an identical twin for four years and the first month was really confusing), and I thought I knew of one identical set, but as it turns out, the Olsen twins are fraternal, too! WTF?
Anyway, enough of my twin confusion, congrats to Amal and George. I’m sure your babies will be rich and good looking just like you guys!
